System Photos!

It is, something like 8500 cubic feet, hence the sub. Yes, I should have two – but they’re not inexpensive : )

But the Focals do put out a lot of sound unassisted, for their modest size: 100w + 100w + 400w, per side.

These monitors actually have a built-in high-pass filter, so I have even more variables to play with to integrate the sub.

With appologies to everyone…I didn’t want to disrupt the flow of system photos which I thoroughly
enjoy but need to amend and make a correction on a previous post by me.

Our friend Rower30 Galen had posted commentary regarding a P12 fan issue that I misread
and misinterpreted…where Galen said that I was not at fault…yet somehow I misread…
and responded rather aggressively…

Galen my appologies to you…
and to all who read my post…

Thank you Galen
Thank you everyone
Best wishes

Well those are a whole bunch sexier than the matte black painted equivalents that my Martin Logan Aerius sported years ago.

Yeah, I’m really glad these weren’t the matte black ones.

Beautiful Martin Logan P9. Not sure P9 is the correct type, but they sound and look amazing.

SL3’s actually. Never heard of a P9.

That’s was rare to see the SL3’s in walnut they were always black or maple in the stores. Back when there was high end audio stores. Beautiful speakers!

Thank you. I get that a lot that they are rare in the walnut. Even more of a reason to like them. They sound every bit as good as they look, possibly better.

I do wish I had an amp with little extra juice behind them though and stable for 2 ohm transient peaks. If I’m not careful, they do shut the Schiit amps down, considering my amps are barely rated for a 4 ohm mono load, and these SL3’s are getting down below 2 ohms quite easily on the top end as well as nearly 16 ohms at the same time in the mid-bass. So these little amps just run out of steam and grunt.

Other than that, these amps sound absolutely superb with these speakers. Hmm… I wonder how the S300 would perform with these SL3’s? Maybe someone might want to do a trade.

If you find a deal on M700’s you will be a happy camper! They will make those SL3’s sound better than ever!

I used to have a pair, along with the GCD. If I was using these speakers then, I would have most likely kept the amps.

I’ve got a BHK 250 on the way and will be selling my M700 presuming I decide to keep the 250

I’ve got a BHK Preamp and BHK 300’s on the way and I am selling my Stellar Gain Cell Dac and M700’s while I am waiting. I am presuming that there is a very, VERY low chance that I will be returning the BHK’s after my 30 day trial. :sunglasses:

True. I’ve had the DS and BHK pre and M700 for a couple years now fed with a P10. It’s the last piece to the set.

Well being out of work for five weeks now, these worker comp checks are barely, and I do mean barely cutting it. As much as I’d love to have the M700’s again… That’s why I was shooting low for the S300 with a possible trade.

Hope you get back to work soon

Are your M700s black, by any chance?

Yes, they are black and are listed currently listed along with the SGCD on the Marketplace:
