We all like to believe we are responsible and would never let that happened. However, it only takes one time and it is easy to get distracted. Not to mention as we get older, and I can speak from experience, dozing off becomes pretty easy to do when it is least expected.
I have one of these. A very clever and effective device. A modern version of something similar made a while ago by Audio-Technica (which I also have!).
I’d much rather have the Martin Logan’s behind them! I had a chance to get that ML center channel in the picture (one exactly like it) for $3400 open box with full warranty it retails for $9998. I missed out and dropped the ball on that one!
I like my 15As :), the focals are looking for new homes…and that Illusion is fun (center)…no room on floor so we tossed it up on stand to fire through screen…
Just got in the EMM Labs DV2i DA/Preamp/Streamer!
Interior shot before swapping in the Synergistic Research Master Fuse + Stealth Cloude Grande Cu power cord…
Looks super clean and impressive. I used the SR master in my Diablo with unsatisfactory results. The masterpiece M2 was much better in the Diablo 300. My SR guy had said that the master works better with streamers and digital components, so maybe with the integrated streamer it may play well with that unit.
Other minor experiments with the new TT. After reading the Rega book Vibration Measuring Machine I’ve decided to try the full Rega kool-aid experience and reinstalled the stock counter weight, wool platter mat and unbalanced cable from the Aura pre. So far I like what I’m hearing.
Edit: Also noticed the Rega wool mat appears to have no static cling issues. Very surprising based on previous experience. Maybe they’ve increased the lanolin content!
I’ve had a few Rega TTs in the last 30 years, tried some other mats but have always preferred the Rega mat, better balance overall. I have recently added the Stack Audio Serene Stabiliser which improves the sound on my P10, highly recommended!
Testing the first full-range Tetra I finally assembled today.
Augmented by the side-firing Audio Physic bass woofers in the corner (the pairs in series to get 8ohm for bass, 8ohm for the Tetra)
Only mono thus far of course, but it’s sounding fairly balanced and a bit warm thus far. Great deep bass with the AP “subs” in place.
The 12mm spruce ply actually sympathetically resonates quite a bit as intended already, but will need some careful thinning from the inside to reach the level of tonality I want.
And can’t wait to hear them in stereo.
Also tried hanging from the roof. Don’t see any downsides.
