Oh, that’s what that grey pencil symbol is for. There used to be the word “edit”. Got it. Thank you Elk.

You are very welcome

Thought I would bring this thread forward to help the PMG thread stay on track.

I like remotes: pick up, feel for correct button, press and put down.
vs.
Apps: pick up device, put classes on, put finger in right spot to turn on and sign in to device, find app icon and press, wait 100ms for app to present on screen, find correct button press and put down.

BTW, I change the source on the MU2 with an IR remote, and the Diablo 333 has no app but has a very good feeling remote (basic D333, no DAC or Phono Preamp modules).

Sure everyone would prefer a nice remote, but in the end it doesn’t really matter that much to me as long as it’s reliable and functions properly. I don’t suffer from remote envy.

So I tried programming the MU2 IR sensor to read the --DAC-- buttons on the Diablo 333 remote, it worked! So now I’m using the D333 remote to control both the D333 and MU2.

The buttons’ labels don’t match but it works. I change between the streamer and Toslink inputs, next track/previous track, and pause on the MU2 using the Gryphon remote. I no longer need the PS Audio remote I was using for the MU2.

Are you still using MU2’s preamp? Is that why you need to use the Gryphon remote to control it?

I’m using the MU2 DAC for both Roon/streaming and Toslink (TV) input, not using the MU2 volume control.
I also have a tablet and a PC that I use for more detailed control of different apps/devices but to control the D333 preamp I use the remote for volume and switching between the MU2 and my PC audio (analog).

Now I got it, thanks!

I set up the ir sensor on my MU2, and I found it to be clunky, so I went back to the phone for volume control of the MU2, as pressing the phone screen volume control is instantaneous

Also checking that you know about setting the volume level in Roon to 92 as a maximum volume when using the 333 volume control?

Perhaps it’s your remote or where you placed the IR sensor. When I was using the volume control on the MU2 via remote it was instantaneous (this was before the D333). Most of the time I used the Roon app to control the MU2 volume and that works well also - but now with the D333 I have to use the remote for volume control - Roon does not control the D333 volume.
I set the Roon volume to 90 (-2db on MU2), for some reason I like having 2db in reserve (@Paul indicated in one of his videos 98% is probably infinitesimally better than 100% even though he just sets it at 100%).

I used the PSA remote, which is a good remote control for volume, and did prop the sensor in a good position to receive the signal. Could always try again, since you seem to have good luck with the ir.

It could also be the distance, my IR sensor is about six to seven feet from the remote typically in my set up. Yours may be further away.
