Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 (Tilson Thomas/SFS) in High Resolution

I’ve been wavering about the high resolution trend but I think the latest release from the San Francisco Symphony has made me a true believer. I didn’t buy the DSD files nor the 24/192, just the 24/96, and I am stunned.

I try to attend 3-4 SFS concerts a year so I’m familiar with the issues in Davies Hall but this recording is simply stunning. Round, glare free, exciting and emotional. I think it blows away all of the Mahler 24/88 releases.
