BACCH has passed the bleeding edge phase, and is now in the cutting edge phase.
When someone like lets say PS Audio puts the BACCH technology in their equipment (using a licensing agreement) like the AirLens at that point they will start to be mainstream.
If PS Audio could license BACCH and install it in their AirLens at an affordable price, the AirLens would sell like hot cakes! @Paul
When comparing streaming, and playing music directly from a hard drive, using BACCH the music is cleaner, without being bright (along with all the other stuff BACCH brings to the table) compared to a veiled sound without it. No A/B needed to tell the obvious difference.
@Vmax - do you have a PST in your system? Iâm trying to sketch out the connectivity required to integrate the Audiophile+ kit into my system and I note that the only digital input supported by the Babyface Pro FS is optical. The PST only offers Coax, BNC and I2S outputs so Iâm trying to figure what might be possible to connect the PST to the Babyface. I see that coax-to-optical converters are available but they seem to be cheap devices. Iâd be interested if you or anyone has any experience with these devices and whether you can recommend an âaudiophile qualityâ product.
As part of the same connectivity planning activity, Iâve noted that the only analog input supported by the Babyface is XLR. My phono preamp (Manley Chinook) only supports unbalanced connections so it looks like I would need an XLR <> RCA cable. Fortunately, I have one of those. Nonetheless, Iâm interested to hear how my LPs sound going through the A/D and then D/A conversion performed via the BACCH process versus my current pure analog chain. Are you using a turntable in your BACCH setup?
Iâm happy to hear that Edgar has been as responsive and patient as he appears to have been with you. Are the setup telecoms audio-only or is there a video element involved (FaceTime, Remote Desktop, etc.)?
The BabyFace FS Pro is not the only type recording mixer the software interfaces with. I know that because Edgar told me he has customers that have used their own equipment and did not buy the Babyface. My turntable doesnât have XLR either and I would have to use tape out XLRs from the preamp. I would ask Edgar about other mixer options that supported RCA or different digital inputs. They likely exist and the software probably has an interface optio to go that route. The top of the line 65k. Version apparently supports multiple connections. There are some companies that build higher quality digital conversion devices. I bought one from an AV company in LA. https://www.calrad.com/
There is a 3rd party Remote Desktop type application that Theoretica uses to make proper selection and navigate the application. You need to ensure it is quit anytime the support session is utilized There is also ability for you to set a password to give if you want extra security layer other than clicking on the icon and you remain discoverable as a machine. Edgar knows the product and how to troubleshoot the multitude of issues that come up. He first checks his software makes sure it and peripheral devices are functioning . Then he works the remote 3rd party streaming interface issues too.
Thanks for the reply. Iâll need to investigate some of the other options youâve cited when I speak with Edgar.
How wide would you estimate your sweet spot to be at your listening position? For those sitting adjacent to you, I would expect the 3D effect to not be as dramatic; however, does what they hear otherwise sound ârightâ (at least as good as what they would hear if the BACCH wasnât active)?
The sweet spot is narrow width wise, itâs elongated front to rear, so sitting directly behind the sweet spot is the second best seat in the house.
BACCH on sounds better in every scenario here. You get a bit of the 3D effect sitting almost anywhere, but the sweet spot and the chair behind itâs mesmerizing.
With head pone tracking you can get 3 Feet either side-if you move your head out there during measurements But it sounds like regular stereo Uo bypass unless they move there head in-front of yours then they move back and 3D moves to their spot with tracking camera since now camera follows their head until you take it back.
We want to continue to have complete transparency regarding our goals and objectives of listening to great music at an affordable price point.
Up to this date 2/9/23 we were just customers of BACCH from BACCH Laboratory, Inc., and we see a great future for this Company and as we said before; âWe personally look at it this way, we see Edgar Choueiri and BACCH doing for Audiophile music what Ray Dolby did for surround soundâ. So today we invested in BACCH Labs. We will not answer any investment type questions, if you have any questions please contact James Mentz, CEO directly at info@BACCH.Com
Dewds, this sh*t is wack. I am beyond pleased.
You guys donât get the hardware version iPad controller. 700 pages of controls, each somewhat of a puzzle at first. But a very short time later it all makes perfect sense. Itâs like itâs designed by a smart person who makes it simple to follow. I wish in some future update he might complicate things even more.
I used to be satisfied with an up/down volume button. No more. I am a scientist trainee.
Rabbit holesâŚâŚ
Speaking of rabbit holes, play the first two tracks, or just the second track perhaps. It really shows off your soundstage. Mmmmmmm
Indeed those two songs with BacchDSP had music coming from every direction they weâre actually quite relaxing being wrapped in a sound cloud sort of like walking in a warm summer rain. Hitting you and everything around you above and below.
It is what was playing while I was writing that post. It was so very enjoyable. To many it would just be beeps and boops. To me it was a vacation in the tropics.
