Things to do and pass the time at home

Fantastic book. One of the best I have ever read.

Welcome, pcollura!

Passed the time this morning by weed-whacking 3 properties, now waiting on the grass to dry so I can mow the 3 properties plus a fourth. Spring is here in the mountains of Upper East Tennessee.

Weather nice enough (3 years ago we were still digging out from a March 14th blizzard) to get back on our basketball court with Matt, one of 4 grandsons, for a game of 'around the world". No contest, but, it was fun notwithstanding.

My neighbor has one of those 1/2 court setups in his yard. Not as well maintained as yours! Looks like a lovely place!

Hey Steven. Looking at the first post ( I think that was yours?) I see you have been reading Willy Vlautin. A great writer and one of the few where you can read his books and listen to his music at the same time. I really miss Richmond Fontaine. Going to see them was a massive once or twice a year treat. Anyone who hasn’t heard them I really recommend a listen so long as you don’t mind a bit of bleakness.

Personally listening to bleak music always cheers me up.

Love the Scottish Highlands. Have been there only once and would love to travel there again.

Once the dust settles, Sohail, you will be very welcome.

Looking for something to do, maybe to get that new gear? Check the bank rates for a refi or HELOC, they tend to follow prime or LIBOR but with the FOMC lowering the Fed rate and the discount window rate I am seeing some very appealing rates for these products. Under 3%, very very low by history of these things and if I had to bet, the prime will follow at or b4 the April FOMC meeting and 2.5% may be on the table. Nice time to look at lowering your monthly or cashing out a few bucks.

Nice!

Thanks. A great way to interact with the boys (triplets + 1). Regrettably, ear buds defeated efforts to get them interested in listening to music through a high end system.

My God, that’s beautiful!

Play more music
Just though I’d mention it, the “now playing” thread has been a bit quiet?
It may be me being jumpy, but I can’t believe we are all ruminating on CV etc. and other ills in silence!

I spent most of the afternoon making custom Ethernet cables. Takes focus and time. Time I have for now but focus, well no wine today helps.

Beautiful shot.

Used to do it for a (partial) living, as a CEDIA certified installer. My clients had no notion of it whatsoever. Not sure if it is worth the effort and expense for our particular, severely anal applications, though I have never tried to make something to compete with current SOTA ethernet cables.

Unless you’re simply enjoying it, in which case, it is all good🤠

No need to hang out at home all the time, outdoor activities are still on the table. Been going on hikes and riding the bike. When at home, besides listening to music, or at the same time, I enjoy working out on my functional trainer which resides in my listening room. Nothing better than working out with the stereo cranked up.
