Vince is losing his mind

For people wanting to be frugal, the plastic rebar chairs are cheap and effective. Get a whole bag for only a few bucks and see it makes a difference.

A legitimate concern. Thank you for the notice.

Thanks for the note. I happen to use sugar-free chocolates. I need to pay close attention then. Thanks again.

These are the cheapest cable lifters for this type of cables. But if you have pets I do not recommend to get these :open_mouth:

You’re most welcome everyone.

If there’s one thing that I’m more into than audio and music, it’s animals and their wellbeing. I gotta watch out for my furry audiophile buddies!

Chocolates? For your dog!? Dude.

Short list of known dog killers:

Chocolate
Advil
Raisins/grapes
Xylitol

Styrofoam is inherently staticky. I can’t see how that would be a good idea for cable lifters.

To be tested

Maybe that is why I do not hear much difference. I just can not figure it out a better way to lift the Fideliums yet.

Intuitively, I thought it was a very creative and nice solution.

At a cost of course

Honestly, I’ve never heard any difference with and without lifters/isolators on wood or carpet.

This is one of those tweaks that I file under snake oil more than anything. Maybe my system isn’t resolving enough yet. Maybe my cables aren’t as easily susceptible to such interferences.

I’ve said it before, the only reasons I used these old telegraph isolators is because I like the looks of them and the cables in the air, and it makes for much easier cleaning/vacuuming around the cables.

I couldn’t stand the little white bobbles of polystyrene!

Brief anecdote alert
We once had an accident when filling a ā€œbean bagā€ (the type you sit on).
They went everywhere.
Months later they were still turning up.
Then they started turning up at other peoples’ houses that we had visited.
All in all it took a year or so before they finally stopped appearing!

Since then I am very wary of polystyrene…

Edit - but you could mould something like that with modelling clay, or some slots in some nice looking wood blocks?

My mistake! I sent an old picture. I do not use polystyrene anymore because of the problem you described. Now I use a sponge type foam lifter like this one:

Looks safer.

I dunno if those cables sound any better, and they don’t look practical, but they do look cool

Use those Mr Clean Magic Erasers. Guaranteed to keep your signals clean and erase any air-born noise from the cables.

@vkennedy61 I have the same issue. Cat is forever getting a toy mouse back behind the cabinet and the end result always seems to be speaker wires off the lifts. PIA to get back.

Nope, no chocolate for the pet! I was referring to my intake of artificial sweeteners! :face_with_peeking_eye: But thanks for the list :+1:t2:

We’re presently considering Omega Speaker cables w/ the Mobius Elevators for our system. The Sigma speaker cables we presently own are very good. After our Omega demo we will decide if we’re going to Omega.
