We also love cars

Both would be a hoot.

I continue to be amazed by how good the MX5 is.

Not true.
No robots involved. All steps need skilled workers.
Did you read See how the Dodge Viper is built ?

OK… Facts: 1,249 Hand Built Vipers built vs 33,270 assembly line corvette’s in the Bowling Green plant.
starting in 2020 there were more Corvettes built than the Camaro.

As you know, the number built is irrelevant.

Fewer built merely makes an item less common.

Exactly… Exotic Special or rare.

The discussion of exotic, super car, hyper car is quite interesting and polarizing.

I should up at the local Supercar event in my old Ruf’d 911 and I was parked with the “exotics” (read between 50 or so Mc’s and another 50 F cars and an equal number of Lambos).

Next time, I went in my 1 of 1 in the USA R8 Plus Exclusive and was parked with the MB’s and 911’s under the category of sports cars.

When I bring my 69S it gets parked where the Bugattis are as it is considered a rarity.

Driving it up the stairs must have been hell.

They have a very large elevator. It was an experience for sure driving it in and up that elevator. Good times.

A cool souvenir.

It’s exciting having a vehicle on an important static display. My son had his Ducati 996 as part of the Art Of The Motorcycle exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum some years ago.

The 996 is a gorgeous machine.

My first Ducati was a 999. Controversial styling but it dominated MotoGP.

Great examples of differing perceptions.

There is a lot of discussion as to whether the C8 is a supercar/exotic.

Approximately 31,850 Vipers were made.

31,850 of anything is not special, exotic, or rare.

But who cares? If you like the car and enjoy it, it does not matter how many others are out there. It takes nothing away from your car if there are others like it.

My son and I agreed that the 996 was not a sensible choice as a street machine. It was a track weapon.
His favorite so far is his Monster 1100 EVO; mine, my (long gone) Monster 900.

It’s quite obvious you do.

That’s only 1274 per year.

Also that’s less that a single year of corvettes produces.

They only made 56 of the ACR model I have. I think that’s rare and exotic in my book.

Again!

Too funny.

And there are less than 56 depending on color, options, etc. You probably can get it down to 1 out of 1 - making it seriously rare.

But so what?

And why do Viper owners have such a Corvette obsession? Even Viper enthusiast sites do. Silly.

Enjoy your car and stop worrying about what others think.

I do suggest however if you track the car to speak/work with someone before taking it out. They have a number of handling quirks which can create real problems if you are not prepared, such as the tendency for the rear end to swing out in sharply corners if there are bumps. The car never really settles. It also tramlines strongly.

I have seen too many Viper crashes and would hate for you to be yet another.

No need for you to worry. I have tracked it many, many times. It eats corvettes.

O’ Yea Almost forgot. I don’t even need anti-lock brakes or traction control like the Vetts have.
Them options are for amateurs.

A neighbor has 2 and he sys they are exotics since they are midengined. Smirking he says like my Fiero ! (he owns a couple of fieros also!) I countered, “like my old MR2”
