I current ride is a 2016 M235xi, love it. Then after watching this video, it seems my upgrade path just got murkier⌠Can I say the T word in this thread?
Yes please!
The price of a good cable
You going to install that system in the Volvo?
I want to install the car in my driveway!
Iâm waiting for one to show up on usaudiomart.
Changed from a BMW R100RT to a Moto Guzzi V100S. Great bike for light touring and spirited back road rides.
Best,
Galen
Beautiful bike.
Now that you have one, how do you pronounce it, âGuzziâ or âGutzziâ?
do the knees get hot?
why the switch?
Not if you are at the right speed!
I think it is supposed to be with the hard âTâ sound, not the âZâ.
OMG, why the switch. There is the 70 mile test ride.
Well, I was looking for a modern R100RT that is 500 pounds or so and thatâs not the new BMWâs at all. Their âsportâ is really a big touring rig and 40+ pounds heavier. Thatâs a lot when you weight 140 pounds! Canât do too much over 500 pounds
I was looking for a tire for the R100RT and BAM, here was a link to this bike. I never thought of a Guzzi, but the specs were spot-on everywhere. Size, weight, hard luggage, power is plenty (115 HP and 77 FT-LBS torque), super bike brakes, traction control and anti-lock features are a plus. Shaft drive was a requirement. The fairing works really well. Those little wings work. Add turbulence if it is hot and removes it if it is cooler. Very effective.
Heat? No, unlike the BMW it does not fry your feet with cylinder heat. Being liquid cooled the jugs arenât warm. What is hot is the air up from the collector muffler stopped. The catalytic converter by design is HOT. You feel that wafting up on 80+ days. So there is heat. Usually it goes behind you moving.
I got the Ohlins electronic suspension, too. The shock is really one size too stiff for me to set pre-load 100% but using touring mode gets the compression and rebound damping, right. Pre-load is close set as light as it goes. Sport and Road are too stiff for my weightâŚthe tires skip over bumps, especially turning along sweepers.
I added a touring fairing that is slightly higher lowered and 6" or so raised (rain and heavy bug infestation rides in the mid west). I then added ROX risers to move the bars up and back one inch. My hands and back feel too much motocross to this day. Canât take the pressure on them too long.
Still, night and day to the 40+ year old vintage BMW R100RT. The R100RT is a lot more work to ride being all analog.
The only thing the BMW does better is being a vintage analog bike from another era. But I can own one bike (no more room!) and the one I want to ride the most. This is it and Iâve put ~1200 miles on it in three weeks. This thing eats miles.
Beautiful SPORT-touring machine!
Just moved from an Audi allroad to a Porsche Macan S. That was a nice step up for me, although I do love wagons and almost went with a Panamera. But the Panamera ground clearance just isnât high enough for MN winters I didnât think. Impressed so far with the Macan.
2018 Macan GTS was the best car I have ever owned. It did everything a north eastern USA family man could ever need and more.
I predict you will have a great experience with it.
P.S. Mine was totally reliable, not one usability issue in 3 years.
Beautiful.
Iâve got a 2017 SQ5 and while I hope this car lasts forever, Iâd definitely get a Macan when the Audi eventually goes away. Sat in one at Porsche St. Paul and it felt soooo right. (I was there for a Porsche event on a sunday, so I couldnât test drive it⌠I was kind of glad not to be tempted!)
I just sold my Infiniti QX60 SUV and bought a Tesla Y Performance deep metalic blue. 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. Scary fast! Going electric all the way.
Nuts. It wasnât so long ago that 3ish 0-60 on the street for not stupid money was owned by the likes of Hayabusas and Blackbirds.
