Now that is an exotic car.
I always had the hots for a Bugatti since the Chiron but they are way above my pay grade.
The husband of a close family relative has a Lambo with now 180,000 km on the clock. One of the tail lights failed and it was a $5k USD replacement for the housing.

An oil change on a Chiron is reportedly $25K.

The local dealer is down the street from me. I never knew there were so many in South Fla.

Replacement of the taillights on my R8 was $10K (for 2!). Complained to Audi and they covered for 70%.

Due to the very limited number of hand built cars the new taillight didn’t match the original design perfectly so he had to buy both. And no discount. He was saying that the fan belt is supposed to be changed out every 5km for the tidy sum of $5k USD.

One of the annoyances of dealing with an actually hand-built car rather than assembling mass produced parts.

But even mass produced cars are getting to be silly expensive to maintain and repair.

One would think that for $5K, you’re getting a higher quality fan belt than one that will last only 5k miles.
I’ve never even heard of a timing belt with that short a life. Some older Ferraris T.B. change at 30K.

Agreed.

The belt change interval for a Ducati is 12,000 to 15,000 miles depending on the bike. These belts have a harder life with a much tighter radius and higher engine RPM.

I own am R8 Plus and a couple of R8 LMS GT3 cars.

My street car had a warning about humidity on one taillight. They proposed to replace one and share the cost with me. When I looked at the part number, there was an update which gives me a different backup light. They (Audi) argued they would only replace the affected one; that is when I went ballistic… They wanted me to have different taillights…

On the GT3 cars, I thought well, I’ll keep the take offs from the street car to use on the race cars. Oops, the race cars use Euro lights and the pin-out on the connections is different…

Worse I saw was a friend having the ac compressor replaced on his Porsche 918 and an oil change… Car was flown to Florida for service. Would have been cheaper to fly the tech over. $65K for the service plus transport costs…

OEM’s are strange. I complained about howling noise on the ceramic brakes. Audi called and replaced all rotors and pads (per the warranty claim - $30K). All I wanted was feedback. Ceramic brakes have their own noise signature

Carbon ceramic brakes do have a distictive sound.

I was surprised to learn burnishing the Z06’s carbon ceramic discs and pads requires 50 hard stops.

Many such animals out there, like all the SUVs and Jeeps for which jumping a curb will be as off-road they ever go, and pickups which carry nothing more than groceries and a bag of potting soil.
