We also love cars

Had a blast. Definitely want to do it again, and there’s a practice session in early october, where you can get more runs in.

I’ll have to see how I did once they publish the times.

If I was the slowest car out there, it’s plenty of room for improvement, right?

Yes, anti-roll bar is a Neuspeed part. Also have their performance module in my '19 R. Holy crap that’s a lot of torque/power from a 2.0L engine! The module applies a 5 psi boost starting quite low in the rev range. This thing gets up and goes and is a real sleeper as a “plain old gray Golf”.

Neuspeed also has upgraded rear anti-sway bar links (shown below). These require periodic greasing so thought that might be a pain, but I’m sure these function better than the molded plastic stock bits.

Pretty.

The best lube for those is some dry Teflon like Blaster or Liquid wrench makes. It will keep the joints lubed and not attract any dirt. If they are Teflon lined they really don’t need any lube at all.

Sold my Eurovan Westfalia pop-top last year, but I don’t really miss it.

I hope you all aren’t too PC for a story. It meets Larry the Cable Guy’s approval, he said “Now that there’s funny”

A Husband went to the sheriff’s department to report that his wife was missing—

Husband: My wife is missing. She went shopping yesterday and has not come home…

Sergeant: What is her height?
Husband: Gee, I’m not sure. A little over five-feet tall.

Sergeant: Weight?
Husband: Don’t know. Not slim, not really fat.

Sergeant: Color of eyes?
Husband: Sort of brown I think. Never really noticed.

Sergeant: Color of hair?
Husband: Changes a couple times a year. Maybe dark brown now. I can’t remember.

Sergeant: What was she wearing?
Husband: Could have been pants, or maybe a skirt or shorts. I don’t know exactly.

Sergeant: What kind of car did she go in?
Husband: She went in my truck.

Sergeant: What kind of truck was it?

Husband: A 2016 Ford F150 King Ranch 4X4 with eco-boost 5.0L V8 engine special ordered with manual transmission and climate controlled air conditioning. It has a custom matching white cover for the bed, which has a matching aftermarket bed liner. Custom leather 6-way seats and “Bubba” floor mats. Trailering package with gold hitch and special wiring hook-ups. DVD with full GPS navigation, satellite radio receiver, 23-channel CB radio, six cup holders, a USB port, and four power outlets. I added special alloy wheels and off-road Michelins. It has custom running boards and indirect wheel well lighting.

At this point the husband started choking up.

Sergeant: Don’t worry buddy. We’ll find your truck.

What happens if you get up in the middle of the night. Does the roof tent have a safety net?

just the ladder. I try not to park on top of anything too pointy.

Just a Fall picture at the end of my driveway after I did the ceramic coating. Might do another coat this week-end. I used Mother’s CMX.

Did you strip off any underlying wax or polish before applying the ceramic?

I got the car at the end of May and didn’t apply anything to it. I’ve been riding my bike all Summer and the car stayed mostly in the garage. I only have 2500 kilometers or about 1550 miles on it.

Similarly, a Hotchkis sway bar kit (F & R) is the best handling bang for the buck modification (maybe the best overall modification value wise) I have done to my '08 G37S Coupe.

As you stated, a really noticeable improvement in the corners.

Does your Golf R have or lend itself to strut tower bars? I also found this to be an economical and efficacious “upgrade”.

Enjoy.

I recently replaced the stock RSB with a Neuspeed in my R32. Did an autocross last weekend and it was a night-and-day difference over stock. (Like thicker speaker cable, amiright?)

Also finally did what i’ve wanted to do for years. Put an epoxy/flake coating on my garage floor. Watched a few videos about DIY, but I decided to have an outfit called Garage Experts do it. Love it.

It’s more blue than in the photos. Flakes of white, black and blue. Blue flakes kinda match my cabinets.

You are correct, Sir!

Love the floor, too…

Did my floor a couple of years ago.

Finally selling the R32.

Guy looked at it, loved it and has scheduled a PPI – so hopefully all will go well and we will have a deal done by this weekend.

Getting a Miata. (Damn autocross bit me. The VW was fun, but it’s heavy. Always wanted a Miata.) It’s a 2013 NC with the retractable hardtop, and he’s done some tasteful suspension mods already. It’s going to be shipped from Florida to MN so I gotta exercise some patience.
