(It’s happening)
This is the way.
Wow! That’s a beauty.
If it ever needs service, I know a guy.
Congratulations!
very nice indeed.
Only Rolex I would consider, simple
The splashes of green and the 50s-ish typeface did me in.
Me too! Not a Rolex fan, but this one makes me drool.
Over the past year or so I’ve gotten into mechanical watches too (I blame/thank my eldest son for this new obsession/hobby). Below are images of the (3) favorites.
Grand Seiko “Spring Drive” “Skyflake” (my favorite so far):
The spring drive is a very unique mechanical/electronic hybrid that uses a main spring to power a “glide wheel” regulated by a quartz controlled circuit. No battery, capacitor, etc.
Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart:
Christopher Ward “The Twelve” in titanium:
Beautiful pieces. The Grand Seikos are so high-tech and beautiful that they’re on my short list if I ever get another watch. Those dials…just incredibly beautiful work.
The Christopher Wards are getting a LOT of love out there. I haven’t seen one in person, but the value is reputed to be off-the-scale.
I made the mistake today of looking at the Nomos-Glashütte Club series watches and am falling in love. I wouldn’t have ever thought myself to be into colors, but they are really something unique. (My daughters threatened to disown me if I ever got the Oyster Perpetual with the colorful bubbles on it. Fortunately that is a pretty rare piece and on the expensive side so it isn’t an option for me!)
I’m becoming a Grand Seiko fan boy (but oh the prices can get scary fast). My next “dream watch” from GS is shown below. The CW Twelve is very pretty in person and sports a COSC Sellita SW300 movement which should be more accurate.
Yeah…those high beat movements and spring drive are truly revolutionary. And the dials…oh, the dials…
Also discovered this outfit in the UK called The Strap Tailor that makes some beautiful bands. The GS is now sporting an ostrich shin strap:
I have this Deep Sea Cameron Edition and a Sea Dweller 43mm I typically rotate wearing from time to time.
I’m retired so I usually don’t wear a daily watch around.
Still love these 2 Rolexs!!
ooobaby Nice!
I got a nice Gulf-Oil NATO strap made from soft seatbelt nylon from an outfit called Bark and Jack. The problem is the Tudor and Rolex bracelets are so absurdly well-machined I never want to take them off. I think the Tudor bracelet may actually be the better of the two.
Congratulations. It’s beautiful.
I don’t wear a watch but am really enjoying following along with those that do.
