We also love video and home theater!

AK is great, but don’t get me started on the Japanese films of the 50s and 60s, some fine film available.

Kobyashi’s Seppuku (HariKari!) is exceptional. I won’t spoil it with words, just view it!

I went to look at their website - a programmable touch screen remote would be perfect to me if…

So the website showed me lots of pretty pictures and told me nothing useful about the tech or how it integrates.
I am impatient and easily distracted, I will check the site more thoroughly later!

Edit - now that I’m thinking about it, for my hifi and any tele viewing it would need to easily integrate with (and this is a list for my benefit later as much as anything)

LMS (as well as iPeng)
Plex media server
Squeezelite/raspi
apple TV 2 and 4
airplay
several IR remotes
and ideally,
RasPi GPIO functions, RS432 stuff, and
MIDI system exclusive and controller signals.

I think I am probably asking too much

Depending on the availability of codes and/or remotes (to record button actions) most of that list seems possible.

Network calls too (e.g. the 2 media servers mentioned)?
It is fancy looking gear

Possibly. You might try asking The Google “Control4 driver for XYZ”.

It looks like Chowmein has a Plex C4 driver.

Chowmein makes drivers for various HT automation like Control4. Some of their drivers are free, others have a reasonable fee.

They may have a Squeezebox driver. Definitely worth contacting them.

Ah brilliant thank you for the “starter for ten” hints, I have had no exposure to any IoT or home automation stuff so far, I’ve deliberately avoided it.
…but those remotes do look nice

Regarding broadcast TV, in the UK we have five channels that broadcast in HD. Occasionally the BBC have the option of watching live TV as a UHD stream. At present the Wimbledon centre court is being shown in UHD.
