Robert Calvert. Vocalist and/or beat poet on some of the best, and some of the worst of Hawkwind.
Here he is romanticising the industrial workers put out of work in the UK in the 80s by Thatcher and Reagan’s Neoliberal financial savagery.
Makes a change from him romanticising fighter pilots dying in faulty planes I guess.
One for the enthusiasts only, though it does have some amusingly candid recordings from picket lines on the 80s miners’ strike (“Arthur Scargill is a wanker”)…
