What are you spinning now? Mark 6

I think in general that modern instruments sound better than their forebearers, but the focal points of my unease are medieval wind instruments such as the shawm and, particularly, the crumhorn. They have a harshness which I find distracting. I shall check out the album you mentioned.; thanks for suggesting it.

The quality of this recording via Qobuz is really amazing. Nothing but blackness and music.

update - no more meighbour’s chickens screeching and crowing at all hours of the early morning/all day, it seems one of the local foxes finally got to them. Jess the dog knew something was going on and wouldn’t settle overnight.

so some peace from the noise (which i didn’t really mind) and hopefully the rats (which i was not so keen on!).

Another band I never heard of before now. I guess being brought up in a phone booth had its drawbacks

I do feel for the chickens, they can be a nuisance. My grandfather had a chicken ranch in FL. Ranch meaning the little fowl were in open houses year round due to warm weather. However, I agree peace is preferable.

Does your doggie kill the rats? Or does she have to be kept in doors overnight, my dog policy in NH.

Always feel the need to credit @lonson for bringing Jack into my life, among many others great artists.
