24/96 FLAC with a DR of 8 and does sound pretty glorious…heard 1000 times in my life, never sounded like it does now on the Big Rig! Wow!
Pass… (although attended a very nice Nick Mason Saucerful Of Secrets gig last year;-)
If only…
Picked up a box set and discovered mad love for Henry Mancini. Of course this song wasn’t new to me, the recording quality sure was.
Great Rhino set…I’m in the moooood…
Love that “Hooker” sound
I assume if you own the right version you have something pretty valuable. Art at the highest level, achieved by an enormous talent with a big personality. I’ve said this before, Louis Armstrong is a top 20 important, historical American.
Pheromones - Good for You; my boss is on the drums.
Listening to the recording with Isabelle Faust now on Tidal. Whether I want to or not, I tend to compare performances of the Beethoven violin concerto against the Angel recording with Oistrakh I used to listen to back in the 70s. Heard that one enough so it became permanently etched in my memory.
I think this one may be a keeper. It has a lot of the same richness and energy. . . . At least that’s how I’m hearing it. (But this is also a day where a lot of what I’m listening to sounds really good!)
dime a dozen current NOLA trad jazz band playing live to tourists and locals alike…and it’s really good and fun.
y’all are sick of my posts…done for the night. I have a tiny, sliver left, of an absolute killer, Rye Whisky and playing the greatest funk record ever…
Great trumpet playing + electronica
