Here’s one for @bootzilla for making it past mid-week!
My system’s been disconnected. Waiting for the electrician to put in a separate 20A circuit. Hoping to get it up and running tomorrow. Can’t wait to hear some of the albums posted last couple of days.

Coltrane '58 which has been posted here several times. Bought the 256mp3 @ Amazon. Then I went and got a 30 day trial of Qobuz Studio. Yes, there is a difference is SQ but no so much if you listen at 16/44. But at 192/24 with my PC’s USB/SGCD…you get that “holy shit” moment throughout this collection. Even the mono stuff was spread out a bit instead of that absolute dead center imaging that I’ve never been a fan of. Even though people say it’s “authentic”. One of those collections of music (like the Complete Atlantic 1995 Box) that lets you forget about your electronics and focus on the music.
My first encounter with the Kuijken Bach cantata cycle and I’m impressed, especially with the extremely natural sounding DSD64 recording. I’m always partial to OVPP in this repertoire and Kuijken brings it off beautifully.
No, missed that one. . . .

The late great Jaco Pastorius’s son Felix is a serious bass player. Felix Pastorius & the Hipster Assassins put on a great show at Burlington, Vermont’s Foam Brewers this past Saturday. Felix is a chip off the old block. Felix doesn’t have any solo albums on TIDAL yet, so I queued up some of his dad’s amazing music.
hmmm might have to hunt that one down
Felix Pastorius is on bass on this 2013 album, replacing Yellowjackets co-founder Jimmy Haslip.

Hi-res files on a DVDR that a friend sent me some years ago. He has this labeled as 96/24, but my DAC says it’s 192/24. Sure sounds great.
Lou Donaldson, “Alligator Boogaloo” Blue Note
Chick Corea “Origin–Live at the Blue Note” (single disc, not one of the box set discs).

This is probably my favorite group led by Chick. Very nice music, and recording quality.
