What are you spinning right now?

This has appeared a couple of times lately, but the set is over 10 hours long and it is taking me a while to work my way through it.

Really funny review while I enjoy the Colorado tea and this record
 I fit the timeline and moment but no one in my circle had this record. Bitches Brew, yes, but not this one.

@amsco15 If you are looking for more in the “Koln” vein, check out the “Sun Bear Concerts” box set. Not quite as well-recorded as “Koln,” and more self-indulgent given the 6.5-hour length of the set, but a towering achievement and an engrossing listen, nonetheless.

Enchanting

“For his seventh ECM outing, Gustavsen, the son of a Lutheran minister, has incorporated some Norwegian hymns that he refers to as “my standards.” Four of them are translated and sung in the Pashto language by the German-Afghan female vocalist Simin Tander, accompanied only by the pianist and his perennial cohort Jarle Vespestad on drums. Four other songs are poems-three by Rumi, the 13th-century Persian and Sufi mystic, and one by Beat-generation wordsmith Kenneth Rexroth-set to music by Gustavsen and sung in English by Tander. The remaining two tracks are instrumental duets for Gustavsen and Vespestad.”

While the wife is away, some all-time favorites come out and played LOUD. Classic Records LP. Don’t play LPs much after I bought the DS. Absolutely fantastic sounding.

Highly recommended, Tenderlonious feat. the 22Archestra redefining jazz;

Sipping some Japanese whisky and listening to Mendelssohn. A perfect finish to the weekend.

I’m a bourbon lover and have read that Japanese whisky can be really great. It doesn’t surprise me though.

weird, but I’ve moved on.

George Lewis didn’t suffer the modern disease of cynicism. Such a joyous sound!

Don’t know what it is about Willie Nelson but I feel a deep connection with his entire career as I get older.

Maybe should start a thread “What are you sipping right now?” :wink:

I LOVE Gillian Welch
 her partner Dave Rawlings is no slouch guitar player either. I Wanna Sing that Rock N Roll live at The Ryman.

It’s down in the price range but bourbon doesn’t have to be expensive, here in the US, to be really good.

I shall give this a try.

This may be the best Allman Brothers cover ever, even if it was used in a Lincoln car commercial. Available on TIDAL HiFi without the advert. Great video version here, but there is a bit of advertising at the beginning and end. RIP Sharon, we miss you.
