First LP as a newly-married man. Iāve had this one since its initial release. I only need to hear a few notes and a mood is presented to me. Memory is a fascinating thing.

Some great music on here! Congratulations on getting married. I just caught up on this thread and your story is wonderful. It will be 25 years for us soon and I wouldnāt trade her for a new amp!
Thanks! I know how lucky I am. . . and Iām enjoying my good fortune.
Last music for a while. KILLER sound.

Great music too.
Congratulations again lonson! It is a great story. I hope she enjoys your system and music too.
Thanks Steve! Well. . . she likes the sound of the system. She wishes she didnāt have to look at it, thinks itās a cross between really ugly and a science experiment in looks. But Iāve held firm and somehow it remains in the living-room. Sheād like me to get a cabinet to lock it up in, but my Mapleshade Samson V.3 rack is here to stay. . . it works so well, in every way.
It can be awkward, an alter to a religion few understand.
Thatās very true!
Iāll be able to maintain this balance of what I want and what is allowed for a half a decade or so. . . until she retires. Then I know Iāll have to set up a listening area elsewhere. Cāest la vie.
Sneaking in an LP before the day turns in another direction.

WAY cool.

LP 1 of 6. Early in the 'nineties I bought the 5 CD version of this French CBS LP box set. . . I love this music. I also have a lot of this music on volumes of āThe World of Duke Ellington,ā US Columbia LPs. But I found this unplayed box set really cheap via a seller in Japan and it arrived today. Iām like a little kid bouncing with joy. Lucy is amused at my excitement. Great sound!

I broke with my usual and bought the two lp set of this one, even though Iāve had the CD most of the past year and it sounds magnificent. Well the LPs are sonic bliss. I love this album.

Record 2 of this excellent set.

Interesting. I was just listening to some of his recordings for interpretation guidance as I am going to be performing a couple in a bit.
His performances are particularly idiosyncratic. Fascinating stuff.
Debussey was such a great composer. Best of luck on the upcoming performances.
Right now
Re-listening to Record 2 of this excellent set. Itās just so good!

Another mid-fifties Columbia marvelous sounding LP!
