What are you spinning right now?

lonson - When I spun vinyl 30 years ago, my wife would not go near my system. I sold it then and a 30 years later I put this system together and it is amazing with Roon Nucleus+ w/ Sbooster LPS and all PSA gear with SF Guareni mains and REL subs… so for me it is audiophile. For her, she gets to listen to anything she wants streaming w/ TIDAL and can load hours of music. Music is my wife’s passion I never really understood for 34 years till I put this system together. Now she loves it as much as me and I have pulled her out of her “insecurities w/ technologies”… What is nice is that the back of the music room opens up to the great room and she can listen to the music as I am in the sweet spot… it is a win/win and so cool…

Glad that is happening, I know how much fun you two could be having. I’ve thousands and thousands of discs so I haven’t gone the streaming route. My wife isn’t intimidated by the technology of my system, just not as interested in music, it’s not her passion the way that it is your wife’s. Enjoy!

lonson - OK, gotcha; sorry… I am fortunate that way… just to be clear, I listen to a lot of music my wife does not like and she listens to a lot of music I don’t like. The cool thing is that she is not afraid of the gear and I am a lot more understanding of the music time I don’t monopolize the use. I work from home so I have a system in my office down the hall. She listens to her music during the day and in the afternoon I critically listen to my music. We share the fun…

Jon Batiste, “Hollywood Africans,” produced by T Bone Burnett. TIDAL Master version.

Batiste + Burnett = a must-demo for me.

Just listened to “Saint James Infirmary Blues” . . . Wow!

This new Jarret album is really nice, sounds like the Jarrett of several years ago. Very melodic from track 3 or 4.

If you are referring to “La Fenice,” it IS the Jarrett of several years ago (July 2006 to be exact).

Here a very special album imo. Rarely that a quite mainstream sextett album is so surprisingly lively, fresh and more than just „one more“…

It’s on the Stunt label which is known for great sound, so here. Also available as vinyl, which on my setup sounds the same tonalitywise with just little more holographic ambiance.

Amazing, St J really sweet. T-Bone has been busy in recent years, both artists hit it for me. Especially, loved the style of piano play. ( just an aside, Reminds me of Prof. Longhair.)

After listening to several of the CD’s in the Scott Ross complete sonata set I wondered how Scarlatti would sound in 24/96. Obviously with a different instrument, recording and performer one cannot draw firm conclusions but the sound was strikingly clearer and better.

This one‘s a large Mosaic set which is worth listening alone for those various tracks of the Metronome All Stars featuring Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and June Christy.

Especially „Sweet Lorraine“ is a fantastic piece.

I’ve got an original six eye deep groove 10inch vinyl release of those tracks from the 50s out of the shellac era, but this time it turns out once more what remastering is good for.

This CD box set kills it by far, sounding like a different recording!

Different than the great Mosaic CD box set of Donald Byrd, Lonson featured a few days ago, which is bettered by the Hoffman/Grey and Grundman vinyl remasterings of the regular albums.

This album dropped today . . . Is Greta Van Fleet a Led Zeppelin clone or the future of rock? Both? Neither? I am not sure, but I do know that this album rocks pretty hard (based on the first three tracks)!
