The SHM-CD

Released at the end of 2015. Very good performances and sound - although I still find Keith Jarrett to be an acquired taste. And his classical recordings painful.

Because I have learned to really like Blu-Spec CD2 sound and pressing quality, I waited until I could get a Blu-Spec CD2 version of David Bowie’s “Black Star” in from Japan. Finally arrived today along with some great Count Basie Roulette reissues. Interesting album!

The new Japanese 2 CD reissue. The Charlie Parker sides are on now, I’ve always enjoyed these.

Perhaps Steve Carrell’s favorite LP?
Flora Purim “That’s What She Said”

Just arrived from Japan, the new Platinum SHM-CD of John Coltrane’s “Blue Train,” in mono mastering. Sounds sublime.

This LP has wonderful sound, and great playing. I love Teagarden, he’s so “fully realized” and to me his trombone playing and singing have real charismatic power.
