I just pulled this one out for the first time in years. It’s a wonderful recording. When my wife and I lived in Champaign, IL, in the ‘80s, Hobson and his Sinfonia da Camera were in residence at the University of Illinois, and we’d hear them play regularly in the Great Hall at the Krannert Center (the hall where Solti and the CSO recorded their landmark Beethoven 9). From our door to our seats in 10 minutes flat. God, I miss that life.

This 1971 release amazed me, be it the performance, or the recording.
It includes Liszt piano concertos 1 & 2.
Quite an engaging work.
