I’d heard about this new Al DiM record. What do you think of it?
I like what I have heard from it so far. Tasteful arrangements and great guitar work (natch!). Here is the official video for “Strawberry Fields Forever,” and if you like this, you will probably like the album:

Like Chick Corea, I often think, “Has the guy ever heard of a musical rest?” As much as I loved RTF and so on, as my brother would say, “Its not music”.
The first time he said that, I asked what he meant by it. He explained that on the one hand you can have a band all playing a song Together - it is of a piece. In this sort of case we have someone playing an instrument with extreme technical proficiency, with musical accompaniment. And like, zero rests😝

I must admit to finding this enjoyable, especially the 11 1/2 minute opening track. They do a good job translating it.
