Which power cord for Puritan 156?

I’m seriously considering getting the Puritan 156 to address my sound quality inconsistency issues. It comes with the Classic+ power cord for $2400 or the Ultimate cord for a up charge for $800. What to do, what to do?

I was more than happy with the Classic Plus, compared to Ultimate.

To be honest you should consider also other power cords from other brands. The better you choose (you can afford), the greater the result of all your components powered by the Puritan.

Ok, Luca. More than happy with the Classic+ from you speaks loads. Besides it looks like I could upgrade later for the same price, in other words, I would be getting the Classic+ for free.

I have tried a couple of power cords on Puritan, and they all sounded better than Class+. The stock cord makes the sound dry and cold is how I would put it. A power cord with a warmer sound (copper conductor) will suit it well. Just like Powerplant, the power cord matters a lot.

I have never used the Puritan power cables. I purchased my 156 used. I have spent a lot of money on I/C, Clock and Headphone cables but could never justify expensive new power cables. Most of my power cables are high quality cables that I purchased used. Currently I use an Audio Art power1 e Cryo on my 156. A good manufacturer of power cables for a reasonable price is Cerious Technologies. I have several of their power cables.
