Will the DS MKII ever see more development? Is this something Ted could do on his own as paid updates?

Thanks, that is definitely far better than chip based.

Usually true these days, unfortunately. Although I like to think funny is funny and I can enjoy the humor offered from any quarter, today’s seemingly ever increasing levels of incivility all too often result in vitriol thinly disguised as ā€œhumorā€.

Too bad, really…

And Class A, or Class A-A/B with a significant level of Class A output before rolling over to A/B…

One can dream!

Exactly correct, unfortunately.

Or class D with a class A input stage.
Curious to learn what PSA’s current view on state of the art in this field is!

The last I heard they will definitely be class A/B.

If they don’t weigh over 200lbs are they worth owning? Who do I sound like?

Common! Paul hinted already that the next generation of amps will be equipped with SMPS, no more deadweight LPS.

No more deadweight amps in this house for sure. Remember (or not) I used to own Krell and BAT monoblocks, I have had enough experience with deadweight/oven amps. Enough is enough

Somehow i missed the post even referring to a amp but ill take everyones word for it.

Theoretically, a guy could run his streamer to dac, amp, pre and be all PSA. Even add speakers.

Ive never even considered that. I think i have had two BATs and two Pass Labs at one time but thats it.

Im interested in hearing this new equipment…ill inquire if in the lab yet…

We, of course, will continue to service MKI and MKII units that have not been hardware modified. And no, we would certainly never have a problem with Ted working for another company run by himself and working on those units.

I guess the policy.has changed on servicing modified MkI’s and MkII’s. It was mentioned previously.that they would still be serviecable.

Thanks! No worries. While the amps will be a ways into the future, they too will be a revelation when it comes to musicality and performance. Till then!

Hmmmm, well, sorry. No it has not changed. My bad. I was trying to keep it simple. The policy is a little complicated. So, let’s say you replaced your output transformer and something goes wrong with your digital input board. We’re happy to fix the unit.

Basically, we don’t mind if you modify the unit and that modification has not or does not change whatever is the problem we’re fixing.

We have to be careful with this and you need to trust us. For example, got in a squabble some years ago when we refused to service a preamplifier where the only modification had been the addition of multiple bags of ā€œmagic RF cancellingā€ powder inside the unit. We initially had called the police worried it was some kind of poison.

Or layers of RF shielding glued inside the unit and covering the parts. None of which were direct parts replacement in affected areas, but….

Im actually amazed you’ll even touch the product after someone pops the top. Much less adds/subtracts/modifies/resolders etc.

Thats pretty much unheard of in terms of support on most any products i can think of.

Magic RF cancelling powder. Thats a new one.

That’s awesome Paul. Thanks

I found the most interesting piece out of this launch to be the pre-amp after seeing the internals… only time will tell… I’ll look forward to rave reviews on the pre.

In the meantime, I’m still amazed at how the MKII sounds and a little sad it will go back to PS Audio with the clear plastic cover unpeeled.
