Just don’t put the dragon in the video system! I have and it doesn’t disappoint performance wise. Financially it makes no sense!

I have a sneaking suspicion most of the regulars here are not doing a cost-benefit analysis taking into account the overall financial implications of the next upgrade or tweak.

Bang for the buck is probably a frequent consideration, sure; but “financial sense”? We don’t need no stinking financial sense (or badges)!

Nothing I do these days makes any financial sense. But it sure makes me smile. And with Vmax liking my expensive Stealth power cable I feel better that I am not fooling myself with my expensive choices. Comparing the new Gen 2 Iconoclast interconnect to my top of the line Stealth Sakra was another strong proof that I am making good, albeit expensive choices.

Starting a build of these.
Linkwitz XL521.4 Reference OB, active speakers.
Just ordered the drivers/amplifiers/x-overs/2 umbilical cables for 12 amplifiers (six per side) to go one to each driver.

Ah. I’ve heard a build of these! Nice sound. He was a real asset to the industry and the hobby. A shame he’s gone.

With all of the power on tap and the OB design I’ll bet these sound grand and effortless.
You will have to post some pics of the process and finished product.

I changed out a 30 foot run of HDMI cable for Fiber Optic HDMI. Be prepared for an immediate improvement. Mind you my run is quite long going to a projector, but My bet is it will improve!

I had some 1/4" steel plates fabricated to stabilize my REL sixpack line-arrays on carpet.
Better attack and decay now.

I can’t get a pair of pass mono blocks out of my head. Considering, for the 2nd or 3rd time. Right now…I’d sell my BHK 300s and P20, replace with x260.8s and a shunyata power conditioner (there’s one listed on audiogon right now). A necessary condition for me, the changes would fit into my rack well. I could arrange enough space for the heat of the amps too. I like the 34watts of class a and much more, if needed, in ab.

Truly, the sound character of my Pass XA100.5 monoblocks is always there as obvious as the first time I heard them.
I think you might have an issue with the resale of the P20. When I moved a couple years ago, I tried to sell mine. No responses from an ad and TMR offered me somewhere around $3K.

Well, selling is always about a price. I did buy my P20 for a screaming deal…who knows till you try to sell, although comps on hifi shark look okay. I absolutely love my xp-22 pre. To me, a pre is the heart of a system (measure that). I want more of the pass sound, I like it.

Just FYI, I measured my Pass amps with my precision measurement tool:
9″ H x 19″ W x 21.5″ D, 105 lbs. each.

Ya, a thing for me. Thanks Ron! I need to stay 7.5” high. That’s the xa60.8 or x260.8. If I buy the shunyata on audiogon (12 days left) that’ll start the whole thing. Maybe….

Which? Everest?

Let me know if you decide to sell it. I have been considering purchasing one to replace our two P10’s.
