A Synergistic Master fuse is on its way…
I bought a SR MASTER fuse for my SPL Audio Elector Analog Pre.
Will report back.
The fuse must wait, the Omega USB cable will be shipping out tomorrow. I want to do it right for once by doing one upgrade at a time.
Ah ah ah, how many times I promised that to myself!
I am getting my DSD back next week fully modded and with JKRichards nickel transformers. All other mods have been previously done. My DS Mk1 sounded good with the XS4400 transformers. I expect a nice improvement with the nickel transformers. As beautiful as the Mk2 must be I have a feeling that the Mk1 especially fully modded will be a classic dac for years to come.
you mustn’t, life is short and you know you want it!
Knuckle head… instigator you ha ha
Best wishes
I am trying to set up a betting pool, but I can’t get anyone to take the “going to do one tweak at a time” action.
That would be interesting indeed!!! Go for it…would bring a lot of laughs
for sure!!
Best wishes
My latest unplanned upgrade was purchasing a NuWave Phono Converter from The Music Room to replace my now defective beloved original one.
Now I have to sell some more stuff. Probably classical cd box sets, interconnects, and tubes. Haven’t yet had the strength to put any instruments up for sale yet.
It is very tempting. If there were a few more crazy reviews I do not know If I could resist its charm. Luckily my new Omega drug will give me a strong dose of satisfaction, and I hope it will last a bit longer
My brother-in-law suddenly wants to have a “family vacation” to Asia in April, and my wife already said yes! Am I included? I hope not. But she said this may help to reduce my audio drug habit. I think she really means she will spend big so I have nothing left in the wallet for “My audio stuff”.
@Vmax, I bought one tall metal bracket to support the USB Omega USB cable (coming next week) and it is too tall. It looks really nice, so I ordered three more shorter ones.
But I used it to replace the bed frame support for Dragon PC on the wall. Put it on top of an Isopuck, then add two carbon rings and two Sorbo. Duro70 rings on top. Everything sounds so tight and so detailed. I think the setup costs around $150. The improvement was better than any fuse I have had.
The support looks great and adds more isolation in two places. Additive must help . I could use 4 of those or an SR Master. I got a new tweak idea that came to me in my sleep last night that may negate the SR Master need. Must test though.
I’m not yet having a dream about audio tweeting yet😊
You might be an audiophile if…
You remain safe and so does your $$$$ stay that way
Best wishes
Yet more Akiko Audio gear in the house. Phono Booster connected to the Innuos Zen 3 bringing some refinement, quiet and clarity, a power cable for the S510 sub and a Tuning Chip on each speaker crossover panel. After a week in the system it’s all as expected and consistent with previous Akiko additions. More acoustic space, less fatigue, more low level detail.
Next are a pair of Aurealis silver digital BNC cables that will connect my TT2 to the M Scaler that should arrive Thursday or Friday. I can NOT wait!
Little green conduits of joy.
This is the Master of Tweaks we all know and admire!
He seems nice.
Luckily Schuko wall outlets have the plugs properly supported.
If you decide to buy big heavy cables you really should provide rigid support for them at every interconnects to the equipment. Mind you, the in- or outlets of your equipment are mostly soldered to PCB’s and even if they are additionally screwed to the chassis, the weight of this heavy cables have a significant lever effect, that causes mechanical stress on those solder connections on the PCB.
Solder connections and mechanical tension are enemies of each other, the stress will:
- affect the molecular structure of the solder
- affect the adhesion between the (rather flimsy) copper path and the PCB core material.
Without support the solder connection will become so bad that you wished you had only connected a 5 ct RCA cable supplied with a 30 $ CD player from Alibaba.
No heavy high end cables without support!
For that reason I prefer the light weight cables and XLR connectors.
