I have upgraded my Technics SL-1500C with the funk firms kit 10 (4 Boings!, Cobra headshell, Houdini & Achromat) Then I proceeded with upgrading to see if I could go further with the preamp. I will say the Technics built in preamp is very good ! Not gonna pooh pooh that because I think its great quality for what you buy there. I wanted to see if I could get further and I was researching the PS Audio’s Stellar Phono Preamplifier. Very happy for it’s performance ! I’m definitely experimenting to see what I come up next. Then I upgraded to the sprout 100 for really nice audio playback for my computer. I’ve had Creative’s Sound BlasterX G6 for sometime now and It’s been excellent for recording my vinyl rips in 96000/24 wav. I know there is much better out there but yet I have to find things that are affordable. Right now I’m researching on the Creative Sound Blaster X5 which from my understanding just got released. Honestly, yes I’ve been lusting after this unique gear as with Zoom’s H6 Audio recorder to capture ambient sounds outside for this summer … because I was recording with my iPhones memo recorder … I love thunderstorms … anyways sorry if I rambled off ![]()
Oh man!

Yamaha makes cool products. Their design expresses quality. Their built quality is next to none. No Yamaha product I owned has ever failed. My 20+ year old MSP5 studio monitors still play in my home office and play well. Even after being exposed to disturbing output signals of a failing pre amp of a different brand. Along with the Thorens TD 105 biggest bang for the bugs ever.
Likewise the Home cinema set, the BlueRay player still plays all disks including audio with very high quality, I let go of the receiver as it did not support 4K and its bass was very thin. I guess power supply’s and power stages in domestic AV receivers are not designed and made for deep bass, as those systems are designed for active subwoofers. Other than that it was one of the most fun electronics for the family, it supported all AV devices and up scaled their video to 1080 P beautifully. An important feature when you have children that love playing game consoles with ever changing Video outputs.
They make good acoustic guitars too ![]()
Instruments, Audio equipment and motor cycles. All does what it supposed to do in high quality.
My neighbor has a Yamaha motor cycle, goes fast, has not failed on him, and when he opens the throttle, nothing but music. Without limits in the bass, nor SPL ;-).
This popped in my head seeing the pics:
“You Will Be Assimilated”
No noise cancellation? No thanks to this rabbit hole. Thank goodness!
If my Senn HD800 dies with me, I’m ok with it, done with headphones basically. WH-1000XM3 FTW
And they make a nice piano
I would be very happy to be assimilated by the YH-5000SE and Seven of Nine.
I do hope those words never pass my lips.
Since our house arressts started back in March, 2020, I can count with two hands how many times I’ved picked up my headphones. Kinda surprised me too if I think about it.
“many nice pianos” ![]()
My usage has been steady for 20 years. My wife goes to bed early. I average 2-4 hours per night seven days a week.
Interesting. I am looking forward to your review.
Did you buy used? That seems like an incredible deal!
Don’t quite follow…care to share a picture or two…?
TIA

Aliexpress. I am going to put the tall ones in the back of the P20. Squeezing the plugs in tight hopefully. Knock off Chinese versions. But the name brands sell for 5x as much. I am super impressed just unpacking them. Solid as a rock. Heavy will stay in place. Rubber feet to rest on wood base. No idea if they will improve anything, but will at least hold in the super heavy cables tight. I had my subwoofer plug pull out.
Thanks for the links.
How long did it take to receive the orders?
