10-4 Brother. This is her house to decorate first and then I will find a place for the stereo. This might also be a good time to downsize and simplify the stereo system.
Of course over time I have collected way too much gear and a lot of it is not presently being used. I even have a couple of new pieces that I wont be able to do anything with for another month or two.
First. World. Problems. ![]()
Baldy Baldy you mean to say that after all these years and the many killo $$$$ you don’t

Can hardly believe that…time may be for an audiologist? ![]()

It seems that MyTek has been having some issues delivering their product. There is a thread in the Roon forums Mytek sells and does not deliver - Mytek - Roon Labs Community
That’s been an issue with them for a while now especially on any “new” product.
I thought I read somewhere that they announced on some products 4-6 weeks wait. Sounds like PSA with the MK2 and Holo with the Red.
If I remember correctly Kitsune said up front that when they started taking orders the end of November that units would not ship until January which they did and that based on the pre-orders and Chinese New Year the first runs would take 4-6 weeks which was reality. I waited until after the Chinese New Year to order and got mine at 4 1/2 weeks. So not like the Mk II. Any North American Holo product has a similar delivery window based on my three orders with them.
I think we all got our Reds mostly in the same window with the exception of Brian. From what I understand Chinese New Year aside, Kitsune/Halo waits until they reach some minimum order before they send to manufacturing. This makes a lot of sense.
…what I meant above about waiting was that there’s just waiting going on in general.
Oh I agree with the waiting in general. I think Brian got caught by his unit going through the NYC Customs Station. Of my three orders the May and the Red came through Cincinatti and arrived smoothly the Spring 3 came through NYC to SC and was a delivery nightmare. Other than that Brian would be right there with the rest of us. And your right Tim has a no inventory on hand system. I don’t know what the other two main distributors, Magna and Wildom, do.
I read on one of the forums that Magna takes a bet on demand for new stuff and orders enough to fill one order and then they resell it. Not sure if that’s true or not, but does explain how fast they were filling orders.
I think the other two are much bigger operations than Tim plus Magna is pushing their own streamer first that appears to be an Audio GD product produced for them. So far I’m impressed with the sound of the Red after running for about 55+ hours straight. As the Aqua DAC’s preferred input is AES it has a leg up on the Zen Stream right off the bat. I think it will stay in the system with the Aqua and the Zen Stream will go to SC to face off with the 7 year old Auralic design paired with the Mk I. That system is the least used one and almost never for critical listening.
Too many audiophiles to be served?
Probably more about the cost of parts and the delivery schedule for them you don’t build things that aren’t sold. Even the big boys in the industry like McIntosh and Luxman have extended delivery times as they don’t order parts they don’t need or aren’t going to use in a time certain. The smaller companies have to order in a quantity to even get delivery so they let orders stack up before they place the parts orders.
Agree! Volatility is a keyword in today’s markets!
Bare minimum!
Could not find your original post, but you have a Gustard fuse in DAC or somewhere else, right?
What is your final verdict on it? I ordered one to tryout, and it takes another week to get here, I think.
I use the Gustard in my P15, It’s slightly on the fatiguing side in my system, but I only had it in there for 20 or so hours, with more burnin time, I suppose it’d get better, but right now I’m burning in my other stuffs, my 4x4 iconoclast xlr, two voodoo power cord, one transparent power cord, and one viborg power cord, I’m gonna spend more time with these cords until I’m sure I like them where they are, just can’t afford to have that Gustard in the P15 for now. I suspect with new iconoclast cable in the system, a new fuse just isn’t a good idea. Those cables are just too revealing, I will have to wait until the cable is fully settled.
But I can’t wait to hear your impressions on the Gustard in your system. It might surprise you.
I bought it for PST, and it has a Purple fuse in it now. I will compare the two to see which one I like better. I hope I get it by next week.
And the good thing is that I think I could live with that as my main source of music. It’s funny how just listening to music from any source makes you feel good.
I tend to agree Vern… It seems as of late I can enjoy a cheap source as much as… or more than… my expensive rig at home. Moving on in my years…sitting in the sweet spot dissecting what I am listening to becomes less of a priority and more of a habit that I can do without… I’m not quite ready to sell it all and move on to being without… but it sure seems like its getting closer more than ever now!
Priorities change I guess…Enjoy the music everyone!
