Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

This will be a great chair for me to enjoy the music at home. However, the only way I can get it is to steal it from the Museum of Modern Art from New York. :worried:

Um. Er. Ah. Hmmm.

They are shorter and much more practical. Incredible clarity with no edge. Great depth to the sound.

Wait! These line optimizations are not cables! Like my Akiko stick, the impact should be within a few minutes.

There’s no break in needed what so ever! Drink and post could be dangerous  I need to go hit some golf balls to clear my head🏌🏽‍♂

There is a difference immediately when you plug it in. It may still take some time for the effect to calm down. With my tourmaline plugs it sounds slightly different after a few hours. The tourmaline may calm down or align itself. The Epplugs, which are constructed similarly to the Furutech, also show an immediate change. It appears clearer and more focused. The depth effect changes slightly. With the tourmaline plugs, the image of the stage remains the same, everything just seems a little clearer.

That’s interesting to know. One of these days I may try a DIY plug like yours. They seem to involve too much labor work for me.

Steven, it looks like the Ultimate may be the floppiest power cable out there. On A-gon, most folks seem to love the clarity, as you mentioned, but there seems to be less agreement about whether the level of detail crosses a little over the line into brightness. Probably depends on how it fits into your system. How are you liking the Pulsar?

The Classic Plus is kind of the middle ground in their PC line. I’m a big fan of the Digital American and use them on all of my digital gear in both systems.

I prefer the Classic Plus feeding the PSM156 and bought a few others for subs and LPS, too.
They are so practical in use behind the rack and sound nice.

100% agree. I own 8 Puritan ultimates. The two shunyata omegas I own are better but too impractical (financially and space) for me to use on everything.

D
Have you compared them?

Only initially. I’m a bit of a set it and forget it audiophile. My wife would never agree with this self analysis, she has no clue the deranged depths some go to.

The only personalization I asked for, is the IEC Furutech plug that let them perfectly fit tightly into the components sockets. On the other end I use the stock Schuko plug.

Luca, what power cord are you using on your Innuos PhoenixNet?

I gave myself a little early Christmas present. There was a good opportunity on a Synergistic Galileo Discovery power cable, in the American version. I bought the Schuko connector from Synergistic, replaced it and plugged it into my P20 to my preamplifier.
Super midrange and treble, silence to die for, articulate bass but a little recessed. As the Synergistic connectors seemed to me average quality because the fixing system is done with small screws - it is still made of pure copper - and the body is made of plastic, I decided to replace it with a Furutech NCF. And then the bass returned.
I will still have to change the IEC but that will be for later.
Small observation, the cell on the cable is supposed to avoid cross-pollution between digital and analog devices and my television which is connected to a P20 - like my preamplifier - benefits from this because the image is better. Their cell therefore seems to be working.
In any case Synergistic buried a Cardas Clear Beyond XL which itself had blown up a Furutech DPS4.1 with Furutech NCF connectors.

The new Omega USB arrived Thursday. Out of the box it had a slight edge over the Siltech Royal Signature usb that I had been using as it was a bit more natural sounding and seemed to reveal more details; but that might have been expectation bias talking. After letting it burn in for 24+ hours, the noise floor did seem to be lowered letting more of the recordings shine through. So, it seems that Donald’s raves (ravings?) about the Omega are true. I imagine that it will continue to improve over the next hundred hours or so. Will try putting the Siltech back in next weekend and see how it compares, but I’m pretty sure that the Omega will be staying.

Didn’t know the new Omega in black.

AQ Dragon Source. I also tried for a while a Dragon HC, the Source sounds more appropriate.

They have a few colours that you can choose. I thought the black and gold was nicer looking than the standard platinum / silver. Also, black equipment and cables are known to sound much better than platinum / silver equipment and cables.

Couldn’t agree more!
