The “Uke” is a highly underrated instrument, due in no small part to the relegation by the likes of Tiny Tim to being the equivalent of a circus prop. If you want to see and hear what a ukulele is really capable of doing, listen to people like Jake Shimabukuro, John King, Joe Brown, and Eddie Vedder. Look for some Jake S videos on Youtube and pick your jaw up off the floor when you’re done listening and watching.
BTW, the fellow playing here, Kris Fuchigami, is quite good but shows the influence of Jake S, who entered the Uke scene around 2000.
