Just did a firmware update through Mconnect app on my phone since the app itself was offering it. So far everything still works. No idea what the new update involves.
Goes to v4.4.37
Don’t see any changes so far.
Mine is the same firmware now v4.4.37
I am guessing I was behind.
I did mine last night and at the end MConnect couldn’t find the AirLens. A power cycle solved that. It had been a couple of days since I used the AirLens so couldn’t make any sound quality comparisons. Still sounds nice!
Hopefully someone that knows better will chime in to confirm what this update impacts.
If I remember correctly, these Mconnect AirLens updates are related to the controller software/interface for the AirLens and are not “performance” related firmware updates for the operation of the AirLens. (Make sense? Not sure I described the difference very clearly.)
Scott, you are correct. The updates through MConnect are from Converse Digital which makes the module at the heart of AirLens. PS Audio designed the rest of the AirLens and they do their own firmware updates. I think you have to use the dip switches to do that update (been a while since I did that). I haven’t been able to get to the PS Support page in a while, so don’t know if there is any new firmware posted there. I suppose this is a nudge to myself …
I did mine today. Good to know that Converse is making an effort to keep it’s software up to date.
