AirLens v2.6.2

Tried this today but nada. I find it interesting that when I play a track in Roon I see the AL and it sound bars are active, yet no sound, anyone else ?

Yes. #Metoo
My Airlens is visible on the network. I can ping it and see it active in Roon.
Just no I2S stream out of the HDMI output.

Check the back of your Airlens. I suspect the status LED is flashing amber.

I have tried a factory reset so many times I’ve lost count.
I’ve tried flipping all the DIP switches OFF. Reboot. All back ON. Reboot. No joy.
I’ve given it a stern talking too, but it’s ignoring me.

I’ve sent a support request to PSAudio. Fingers crossed!

AirLens

When it’s good it is very, very good.
And when it’s bad, its awful…

That is why my Auralic Aries G1.1 rests under it, connected to USB on the DSD MkII and the network via WiFi. It also acts as a server.

FYI for everyone having that orange light issue. We are currently testing a new build for the airlens. We’re hoping to have the fix out ASAP. Some people may have downloaded a beta update over the weekend by accident. We had the beta build up on our update server for internal testing and it may have snuck out. It most likely failed on units.
Once the update is live we will post it on the forum.

Aaron, was the beta 4.3.95? I just checked MConnect and there isn’t an update there. I’m on 4.3.71.

The update we are testing is off of the OTA server. There’s two updates to the airlens, the converse module and the firmware. 4.3.95 will be the latest.

We’ll have more info here soon. We have some internal testing happening right now. With great results! I couldn’t get my airlens to quit over the weekend. I was HARD on that thing. haha

Hang tight

And at least one external tester can also report success! I’m back up and running
Many thanks to Aaron & Taylor at PSAudio and Mike at Magenta Audio

I also have v4.3.95 from MControl…does this mean I have the v2.6.2 Airlens update? or just the MControl update?

They are separate and distinct updates.
I wouldn’t advise doing the 4.3.95 update via MConnect. That’s what borked my Airlens.
I’d wait for PSAudio to make an announcement.
Cheers

Definitely agree!

I kind of inadvertently did the 4.3.95 and my AirLens is working great…

So did I which triggered another round of the Flashing Orange of Doom. Once overcome, I found I had gained vTuner HLS capability to stream the likes of BBC Radio 3. But it should be a smoother process between streamer and device firmware. Guess we are all learning.

Me too, until a power outage brought back the flashing orange. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Hey all!

I just put out the preliminary airlens update in this post here:

Airlens v2.7.0 - Preliminary firmware update - Network Audio - PS Audio

If you are having issues with your airlens you can try this update!

Hi Aaron, if you have already updated prematurely, should you still use that link?
Thank you.

If you’re still having issues, then yes.

If your airlens is on 2.7.0 you’re good to go!

FWIW, I had no issues doing this.

I got Green again :+1:

The release notes in the .zip file I was sent did say “Fixes for rare cases where streamer software locks up”. So it doesn’t affect everyone, and even some who were affected managed to get going again by doing a Factory Reset and/or various other voodoo.

Interesting that the AirLens manual does not list MConnect as a method of updating Core firmware.
I wonder if that is “officially” supported?

Unfortunately, PSA manuals are not known for being complete and well-edited. The module inside the AirLens, mConnect, and the firmware for the module are all produced by Convers Digital; things can’t get much more official than that.
