I know them as woolly bears.

I enjoy they describe the winning worm as receiving $1,000.00. What does a woolly worm spend his/her money on?

not entirely sure what sort of a festival this is, but i guess we have some slightly weird gatherings in the uk too…
…the annual cheese rolling down a hill race comes to mind :slight_smile:

i believe it was “outlawed” a year or two ago, still went ahead though (i don’t think i am imagining this)

The Scottish Highland games were also cancelled at Grand Father Mountain across the border in North Carolina.

I don’t think I’ve seen a video of one, it would take a long time for a winner…

They stretch many strings vertically 6 feet long at about a 60 degree angle, mark a starting line for all the woolly worms to be placed at the bottom and another mark up near the top for a finish line. First one to the top wins!!!
