Anyone experiencing FedEx delivery delays

I’m told that the trick to getting fast access to a real human is to tell the chat bot “I’m returning a call”. Never had to try it, but I’ve friends who swear it is magic.
I’m lucky that our local FedEx/UPS/USPS folks are marvelous and have never mis-delivered or lost a package.
It’s when packages enter a black hole: Troutdale, OR for FedEx; Seattle WA for USPS; and LA area for UPS, that my patience gets tried.
It’s funny but frustrating, when a package is 85 miles away from here and it is then flown a few thousand miles to Memphis, Atlanta or some other UPS/FedEx hub, adding a day or 2 to deliver times. All to justify an expensive air hub/aircraft!

For my business I use Fedex nearly every day. No issues.
A couple weeks ago, my dealer sent me a 6" square box weighing a few ounces via USPS.
That box took 8 days to go 20 miles.

That isn’t normal in my experience. There are some towns that said they did not want to support a Post Office. Those towns have issues.

Not saying that was normal. Just venting about an anomalous delay in gratification.

Given the volume of mail that the USPS handles, even just a .001% loss/delay can seem like a big deal!

I guess it was your turn.

Same, FedEx has been their usual selves, UPS as well. But lately, 95% of our late shipments are USPS. Luckily we barely use USPS in the first place, so switching away won’t be an issue.

I can confirm this works! Had to call Fedex a couple of times today and it worked like a charm.
Thanks for passing this on!

So I was expecting the delivery of the new bike I ordered today and knew I probably wouldn’t be home to sign for it so I requested it be held at a Fedex location. At around 7am this morning I get a text saying we tried to deliver your package but you weren’t home, even though I was still here getting ready for work, but there was no knock or door bell ring! Great job Fedex, you delivered the package on time, but failed to follow my instructions, and your delivery driver didn’t have enough sense to ring the door bell.

FedEx drive by. I have had similar experience with our local driver as well. It can be rather annoying.

Same story here with USPS. I wanted a CD from record store about 25 miles away in Phoenix. I was lazy and didn’t want to make the drive so thought it would be worth it to pay the small shipping fee. Plus save some gas. Anyways, it was flown to LA where it sat for a couple days. Then back to Phoenix where is sat at the airport to be sorted. Then sent to a post office who delivered it. Well that was 8 days.

Ugh. And the USPS is broke. How is that possible?

I noticed everything I purchase from AZ goes to IL via LA, CA USPS.
