Audio Magic Masterpiece M-1 Fuses

Paired with M-1 they sing well together. Fuse is the new king of tweaks!

Yeah combinations with M-1 can sound great with purple. One of them can distort some frequencies. Because the two don’t sound the same. I thought it was the purple but could be system dependent. Now start tweaking those Stealth Tuning rings only if anything it too can confuse one more at times. But in the end it is all a different topping to enjoy on your ice cream swirl speakers. It can be fun like buying new electronics they can be so different in presentation.

I can’t believe you took the bait. :grimacing:

I think of fuses as an extension of the power cord. What I’ve wondered, especially after listening via the extraordinary improvements offered by the QSA Reds, which are third or fourth down in their line, is if there’s a lot more that rest of the power cord has to deliver that doesn’t get through, or gets distorted, due to the fuses we use.

I listened to my system with the Purple Fuse in my P20 and it was very likeable.
Tonight I will try the stock fuse.

Strange finding you on a M-1 fuse thread and actively involved! That is great, as many are really interested in your evaluations and comments.

You can never go home. The P20 is very sensitive to power, power cords, fuses. Take it from one who has had Blue, Orange, Purple, now M1 in the regenerator with increasing success.

I just want to know.
I suppose i could just ask Speedracer. LOL.

Aw chit.
In the last week In the P20 I went from the M-1, which sounded wonderful to the Purple fuse. The Purple fuse sounded wonderful. Tonight I swapped out the Purple for the fuse PS Audio originally put in the P20.

One guess as to how it sounds. Just one.

Okay, I will put it plainly.

The best sounding fuse is the last one you put in.

Sorry guys, the last fuse I put in was the stock fuse.

I hereby resign from the fuse club. I plan to search for the essence from within going forward.

Oh! Wait! I just put the M-1 back in. Oh my goodness how I missed this sound!

Never mind….

I had to finally get off the fuse train and decided to at least stay consistent and stay with one type (M1) throughout. Swapping multi manufacturers and series lead to only two conclusions. They sound different and can sound different at different times, even when burned in. Given this, however, a fuse series seems to stay true to a tonal balance and presentation. Pick your match and move on.

There was a time I switched back to a stock fuse to replace an Orange in either BHK (or PST?), and I was surprised to hear the stock sounded better!

Purple is clearly better, but I didn’t have the courage to try stock again.

I was extremely happy when the first M-1 was installed. With additional M-1s added, their sonic characteristics were enhanced. At the time, the system never sounded better. But living with three M-1s for two weeks the system has tuned its sound towards a tidy warmer side.

Does it sound greater than when I had only one M-1? There is only one way to find out if Al had it right, I guess.

No matter what fuse you use… it’s the system as a whole that will make or break the quality of sound that we are addicted to…Put an M1 into a boombox and be prepared for a total letdown…

Sounds like it’s a hard choice…rainbow sherbet (the Purple) or M1 (vanilla with raspberry or
strawberry topping)

Famous last words Ha!!..The audio merry go round bit you with no antidote in sight…

Best wishes
