I agree. I think slogging through a 162 season and coming out on top in your division should mean something.

Letting more “also-rans” into the post season dilutes the integrity of the game and the value of the division champions’ efforts; and unnecessarily extends the season, in my opinion.

How about only for the relievers…? The starters get to take as long as they need, short of some sort of aberrant behavior.

I’d forgotten how magical a well called radio broadcast game can be. I grew up listening to Lon Simmons and Russ Hodges calling Giants games. I never enjoyed baseball more than I did then.

Franchise record and winning one more regular season game than the Dodgers was enough for me.

While we are talking changes, moving the trade deadline waaaay closer to the beginning of the season, to prevent owners from basically buying a WS if they are in the running seems reasonable to me. It diminishes the significance of the players and the collective chemistry that got them into the running from the overall picture. My .02

I will say. With baseball I don’t like changes. It’s such a historic game with all the stats. I have never ‘got’ the whole - put someone on second in extra innings because we want the game to end. I wanna take a shower now. Lol

How did agents and sports attorneys make a living back in the 1920s with contracts like this?

We’ve come a long way since then.

Very cool. So I had to look things up. Average wage in 1920 was 3600. So with the bambino’s hr total that year he prob got an extra 1500. His top salary was 80k in 31. And he made 850k over his career or about 16mill in today’s dollars. Enough for a few hot dogs. :grinning:

I try doing that myself, love Jon miller, but audio and video are always out of sync

Does mlb.tv no longer have “ballpark audio” option anymore? This the ability to turn off broadcasters and just hear the sounds of the game.

Where do you find the KNBR/KNTV audio? I live in NC and would love to listen to the games - West Coast teams don’t get much air time out here. I dialed into the KNBR stream a couple of years ago but the game must have been blacked out.

Ball players making memories. Thanks, Jack Flaherty!

MLB streaming app is $19.95 for the entire season. All games, all radio broadcasts. I enjoy hearing the visitor broadcasts.

Money well spent. Thanks much.

I listen to (and watch) it on MLB.TV. They give one the option of which audio feed you wish to use, Home or Away teams.

I usually don’t subscribe until Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, they usually offer big discounts on those days.

Or you can get a full year audio-only subscription for $20.

You can watch every game for free at MLB66

All you need to do is buy an Amazon Firestick or Google Chromecast and then download the browser app for either. Another option with the Chromecast is to just use your computer, laptop or tablet and cast it to your TV.

Rarely will I watch a game without having Gameday running. Sometimes, I’ll listen to the Hi-Fi with Gameday open.

I like the data granularity.
