The problem is not with taking time…
Is about how much will take? If I am correct, it start with last bridge II update.
Hope will not take a year or two for testing
Just wondering if PSA is still working to Bridge II update?
Paul any news for us,please?
Yes we are. The beta tests have proven good and now we need to finalize the rights to this new software with the developer.
Thanks, and how long might take this procedure ?
I wish I had a good answer for you.
Yes but this leave room for interpretation.
We could be back on square one with no answer if and when will be available now that you said was fixed.
First you blamed Converse not cooperating with PSA.Now somehow, you were able to intervene and test the software.
I’m confused,sorry.
Paul I realized burst sound when changing formats is only happening within Roon and not when using mcontrol app. Not that I am happy now…still hope for a bridge update.
I guess you know this and test is done using Roon too.
And what is the plan to update Bridge II,please?
We will be announcing the Bridge update next week. All the roadblocks and hurdles have been passed and it is finished testing.
Stay tuned.
Fantastic…and my bug (skip at the very end of a DSD track with Jriver) is fixed, too I heard ;-))
Excellent news.
Expect the Bridge update to launch next week.
Will this Bridge II update do anything for connectivity problems within a wired network? Seems most (or all) of the discussion is relative to “noises” being generated by the Bridge. I haven’t had any issues with noise, my issue since updating to the latest firmware is I cannot connect reliably to my wired network using MConnect or JRemote. Perhaps not coincidentally I upgraded my network with an Orbi mesh system (acting as an access point) around the same time. I’ve had other issues with the Orbi system so maybe that’s my problem, but the computer and Bridge are both hard-wired to the cable router, so that doesn’t seem logical.
Not so funny story … for the last couple of weeks I was able to finally get a reliable connection through MConnect. Then a couple of days ago my cat rests her paws on the DS, doesn’t push or apply any force, and the DS shuts off. What did you do, I ask. She looks at me, nothing! I fiddle with the DS, can’t get it to turn on then try the power cord connector in the back and get some response, but the unit turns off and on a few times as I do this. I then check the cord at the P10 and it is not fully seated. Ah hah, problem solved! Well the DS works again, but now I can’t connect to the network again. Bah!
If your DS is wired to your Orbi, it could be the ethernet port on the Orbi. I had one last year for a short period of time and all of the ethernet ports failed. Web search indicated this was not an uncommon problem. Support couldn’t find a solution other than returning it, which I did and went with a different mesh router.
Its like an early Xmas!
Thanks for the heads up on the Ethernet ports. I only have one thing attached to the Orbi, that’s my wife’s laptop, strangely she’s always complaining the internet is slow! Not sure if that is the cause, but she’s not a technology person … The rest of the Ethernet items are connected to the AT&T router. I’m not network savvy, but there’s something going on here that I’m missing.
FWIW, it has been my experience that various pieces of kit that make up a network can get the “yips” and lose the ability to make the electronic “hand shake” that allows them to pass the 1’s and 0’s along the line.
I have found that de-energizing every network component (no leaving stuff in standby or just disconnecting Ethernet connectors) and then restarting each component beginning with that which is most “upstream” USUALLY does the trick and allows whichever kit was “feuding” with each other to start talking again.
Worth a shot…?
Good luck.
PS
There is also a Bridge reset button/function on the DS Sr. touch screen. You might have to mess with that as well.
Cheers
I’ve restarted almost all of the components at various times, but have never done it in “proper” order. I know this has been recommended but for some reason I have not done it, thank you for the well placed kick in the derrière (I mean that sincerely)! The one exception is the Orbi, I am very hesitant to mess with it since one time my wife unplugged it not knowing what it was and I lost all the settings. Luckily it happened shortly after the initial (and very painful) install so I knew what to do with a minimum of cursing. I will revisit all this soon, right now it is Labor Day weekend and in Michigan that means “head north young man”!
Have a great, long weekend up Nort.
