Can I plug my M6si integrated amp into P12 at any outlet location?

I have a Musical Fidelity M6si integrated amp with a max power draw of 680watts (58watts idle). Can I plug this into any outlet on my P12 or should I only use HC?

P12 max cotinuous load is 1000VA, so 680 watts integrated plus a a few other source equipment would be fine. You could test sound quality through both HC and other receptacles and decide for yourself. On a P15, to my ears, Meridian 857 Ref. power amp sounds better on non-HC socket!

With the large power plants (12,15,20) all outlets are regenerated and the only difference with the HC outlets is that they’re soft start (which means that a connected device with high switch on current won’t causer the PP to trip). There should be no difference in SQ between outlets.

Thanks for the info. Ironically, my DS DAC sounds best plugged into HC socket :slightly_smiling_face:

Im sorry im a nooby - how do i turn the high switch on and what is pp again?

Thats really strange but i found the same thing to be true. I originally had my amp installed in HC but moved it to zone A and it sounds better imo.

If it does not cause any issues, I would leave it there and enjoy the music.
