Vincent Gallo

Okay, maybe not an A-List celebrity, but he was born and raised in Buffalo so he’s got that going for him :+1:

Had some vintage tube gear and did not believe vinyl would make a comeback!

He wrote a column in Sound Practices in 1994 a longish but entertaining read

I waited on George Muresan a few times when I worked at Lowe’s Home Improvement. Since he’s 7’6", we had to make sure to top of everything below the 7’2" height was kept clean. Didn’t want him to see dust and dirt!

I love this stuff and I remember how complicated and impressing even large cassette decks (not only Nakamichi but also Marantz and others) looked at the time.

I just saw a video on the Nakamichi Dragon… a very impressive deck.

Remember when it first came on the market. Visited local hi-fi stores about once a week in those days & always ended up standing in front of one trying to figure out how to afford it. Never did.

Me neither.

I just had a BX125E and never had to decide between the Dragon and the cool tape flipping 505 unfortunately

And a Tulip table. We had one of those in our kitchen for years. The chairs look like Gastone Rinaldi. Why did wallpaper like that ever go out of fashion?

Wallpaper is certainly coming back into fashion now that almost any pattern is easily printable. The home improvement shows are full of wallpaper mods now.

I miss 70s wallpaper, but that is pretty good (big echoy room though!)

I’m sorry, but the way he’s got his system set up, for the cost of all that (not that cost matters to him!) he’s never going to get it to sound as good as it should. And the other stuff in the room further gives me the impression he wants to “show off his (fill in the blank - good, eclectic, trendy…) taste”. IMO just because he spent a load of dough on it doesn’t make him an audiophile.
