Where did you guys (kclarity and yourself) buy it and how much? What were the improvements for you?

Hi, I bought mine through the jays audio website. Payed the us price listed there.
Better clarity, mid and high end improvements.
My, gf, who has better ears than me high fived me within the first 2 minutes of using it.
Mine came from the Jay’s audio website, I’m in the US.
You guys are just never satisfied! I don’t get it!
Always buying something new! It’s like a hobby or something!!!
(I just ordered one of these from Jay’s. I know it can be bought for cheaper but I like this source!)
I ordered one from Jay’s also.
I like that it is made of crushed human bones.
I should also say that I’ve had a Jay’s Audio CDT2 since very late in 2020. I ordered what I thought was CDT2-MK2 but when it arrived I noticed the functions on the remote had capabilities beyond those on the CDT2-MK2. My unit was upgraded to the newer improved CDT2-MK3 before shipping from the factory.
This Jay’s Audio CDT2-MK3 sounds spectacular, I knew it was going to be good but it really exceeded any expectation I had. And as I noted in an earlier post that I bought the QStab NSE CD Clamp and to me it improved the sonic performance even more.
In short it’s a great, great sounding transport and I’d buy it again! Oh, and I’d add a QStab on that order too.
I knew a wee bit about the Jay’s products, but after I learned more from the people posting here I decided to buy one. Also the management at Jay’s distributor, Vinshine Audio are very top of the range in service and communication.
Thanks!
My dealings with them set the standard for others to beat. So far no other company comes close. I wish they made more gear.
I love what they did for you. For me it was eye opening and quite appreciated when they announced the ability to buy the upgrade kit for a very nice price considering the resulting machine. I had a blast doing the installation. If you want to be really impressed with the machine, open it up!
Highly recommended product and company!
I have 3-4 extra Qstabs which I’d be happy to sell to those who (like me) are based in Hong Kong. Please PM me!
Yikes! Bones of Covid-19 victims!
Currently enjoying my Audiolab 6000CDT transport into my DS Dac.
Anyone compared one to a Jay’s audio?
Bit of a CD Renaissance here at Gazjam towers, would invest if a big enough jump.
Thanks.
I have no hands on experience with the Audiolab 6000CDT. The slot load thing gives me pause thinking about the disc handling mechanism and underlying transport. But the wonderful MBL N31 is also a slot load design and it totally rocks my world!
The top load transport on the Jay’s is an older design that was built for reading Audio CDs only. It was never used and never intended to be used in a computer. The theory behind its selection is it reads the disc better than straight line lens mechanisms do.
I would be fairly surprised if one couldn’t hear a very useful upgrade in sound comparing from one to the other. The lower price of the Audiolab 6000CDT just can’t allow the sophisticated power supply and digital design of the more expensive Jay’s. That isn’t to say higher prices mean higher quality. But better parts typically allows better performance.
I think a way more interesting comparison would be between the Jay’s MKIII vs the PS Audio PST. That is the comparison I would most like to see. It may mean I have to buy the PST to get it done though as those of us with Jay’s don’t seem to want to stray. With PS Audio’s return policy one could take a chance, but I don’t want to go there this week.
Thank you Sir!
Any additional or hidden fees? I’ve never shipped anything from China to the USA.
No other fees Shipping included in the price.
Great. Thank you!
I had an issue last week with my Jay’s Audio CDT2-MKIII transport. It stopped reading discs. I contacted Alvin and we quickly came to thinking it was the CD logic board that lives right under the disc device. Alvin sent me a new Logic board with an excellent video showing how to replace it. It took me nearly a full ten minutes to swap the boards and the transport tested positive. I put the top plate back on and I was back in business. I will mention that the new board was a newer Rev and not very similar to what I originally had.
Total time to fix the issue, one week.
Total cost, zero.
Satisfaction: Total and complete satisfaction!
Note: I had the fancy Disc Clamp set aside to prevent damaging it.
Nice. No soldering?
That’s great!! I wish it’s that simple with my Esoteric, but I have to deal with the North American distributor, and he has to relay the messages to the engineering team in Japan, not very efficient.
I asked about just sending me the ethernet board and I will put it in myself, but the distributor said maybe they can’t do that because it would void the warranty if I open the cover, we’ll see.
Never any soldering!
