Current Opinions of Jays Audio CDT2-MkII Transport

The new board has to settle in but is it going to change the sound at all?

The job of the new board is to make the CD spin and the laser read it. It’s a logic board. So now it plays music where with the previous board it stopped doing that. So it’s a significant change.

I am not certain if it will have anymore effect on the sound other than allowing it to happen. The old board failed, the new board has different components so it is possible that improvements may occur. If they do they are going to have to be pretty extraordinary to notice as the transport is pretty sweet sounding as it is/was.

It was sad when I stopped working, but the solution came quick and easy. Hooray!

Do you mind sharing the email address? I can’t seem to get a hold of anyone using info.jaysaudio@gmail.com or the Contact form on their website. It’s been about a week.

Odd as that is the email address I use. Perhaps a peek at your spam catcher?

Same email that I use too.

I’m getting board with this!

I’ve been checking that. I’ve also added the email address to my contacts.

If you don’t hear back try contacting Alvin Chee at Vinshine Audio. One of his employees, Ken Ng, handles Kinki and Jay’s products for him.

Thank you, if I decide I can’t live without this, I’ll reach out.

Is this magnetized like the one that comes with the CDT?

It feels like it is. It clicks in place in the same way. I am away from home at the moment so I can’t be certain. I’ll check it when I get home and report back.

hahahaha I guess that means that you bought it. Last time I was reading this thread, you didn’t seem that motivated to buy it, but you did say that it didn’t mean that you weren’t going to. Whenever it is convenient for you, I’m not particularly looking to buy it, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to either =)

I am such a fan of the folks at Jay’s Audio I just couldn’t resist. I have it and I use it and I tell myself I made a sound choice…

A “sound choice”? Punny, punny, punny!

It’s too bad that nobody on the forum has compared the Jays Audio and the PSA PST. I would certainly be interested in a comparative review.

I love my PST, but the Jays Audio seems like a serious competitor, from what I read on this thread.

Does it play SACDs as well?

No, I checked on their website. Not a big deal for me, I have thousands of CDs but only about 15 sacds.

I like the I2S capability. The Jay’s manual says it’s compatible with the Holo Spring.

I presume that their I2S is also compatible with the Holo May?
