I re-fuse to listen…

Shoot. Didn’t mean to delete the post.

In any case, while I put in the purple fuse, I will hold off on other tweaks and playing with lifting the grounds until the break in process is well down the road. Using the I2S input for now as that is how I had been running the MKI.

Right off the bat it sounds better than the MKI. Hard to believe it will sound better as it breaks in. Fun times.

Hi, @murrayb

I restored your deleted post. You can keep both, combine, delete one - whatever you would like.

Let me know if I can otherwise help.

That’s a relief, I thought I was having deja vu!

Thanks Elk. I guess I will live with two similar posts. :grinning

I agree. In the early days of the beta I streamed non-stop to the MKII. Every day I’d would sit down to listen after anywhere from an eight hour break to eighteen hours (work seems to get in the way of fun). There were plenty of times where the change was a bit of a shock.

Only allowed if you mean it with double emphasis ha

Lordy… Nirvana Unplugged sounds live on the Mk 2 just now. It has been running constantly since January 16th. BHK Pre and Primaluna KT150 Dialogue Premium monos running NOS input tubes with Fyne F703s, three REL S/5 class subs and SR cables…

Very nice indeed.

Ugh…. Mine was after this :frowning:

I had another good 4 hour listening session yesterday. This DAC is an excavator. It digs details out of records I am very familiar with especially red book CD’s. A good example of this is the Byrd’s 8 Mile High. I don’t know how many times I heard this track but I never noticed that when the guitar starts playing in the left channel it rattles the drum kit. I enjoyed the MK I and the two iterations before it but I always felt my vinyl rig sounded better. The digital was convenient and opened up more more potential music via streaming but I preferred the sound of vinyl for reference playback. Now I am not too sure if this is the case.

Thanks for the positive report. I also have owned/done the upgrade kits for the PWD MKI and II, and DS MKI and like you a nice vinyl rig. Waiting for my DSMKII but may be out of town when it arrives mid next month.

The Byrds Untitled album has been a favorite of mine since high school. I played it as recently as a couple of weeks ago. Might have to give it another “spin” tonight now that I’ve got more time on my Mk 2. I know the sound of the snares rattling that you are referring to…

If this had been mentioned before I apologize in advance. While waiting on my new MKII to be shipped, I’m wondering if any MKII users can set up their WiFi via the ethernet connection? i.e. enter the ip of your MKII in your LAN then there would be setup page for wifi and stuffs?

There is currently no features enabled for WiFi or Ethernet on the MKII. From what I understand it will just be used for updating Firmware and possibly UI code.

However, to your point, a web interface to control the MKII vs the tedious and arcane interface would be fantastic. Especially when making endless changes to ground lifting or setting up wifi. Just wait until you try to put a complicated password into the wifi setup. Your last root canal will seem pleasant in comparison.

Listening to Joni’s Travelogue album in MQA on the Mk 2 while vaguely watching the Rolex 24. I’m at about 300 hours and the sound just keeps on getting better and better. The size of the stage, the immediacy of her voice and the power of the bass from the orchestral passages is simply stunning. I am one smiling mofo right about now…

Mine shipped January 16, and made it from Boulder to Murfreesboro TN on January 18, and then disappeared from FedEx tracking - it should have been delivered on the 20th. After a week with no sightings in the FedEx tracking system, PSAudio and FedEx agreed that FedEx lost the package and PSAudio is going to ship another. So the wait continues.
