Directstream MK1 with bridge II, a WiFi option?

Hi, I have the option of purchasing a Directstream mk1 with bridge II for a system I have in my mother’s home; unfortunately, only Wifi is an option, no access to the modem for hard wiring. Can I use something like this:

TP-Link AC1900 WiFi Extender (RE550), Covers Up to 2800 Sq.ft and 35 Devices, 1900Mbps Dual Band Wireless Repeater, Internet Booster, Gigabit Ethernet Port

In conjunction with the bridge II and if I can, will I take an SQ hit in the process?

Please let me know and thanks,

John

I have the DS MK1 with the Bridge II, and I use the IO Gear WiFi to ethernet adapter. It’s sightless, slim, and works perfectly on my home network.

I used to have a TP Link similar to the one you posted, but it was too large just for one device connected. I did not hear a sound quality difference between the two.

Welcome!

I have Mk1 with Bridge 2. I use eero hubs and works fine. The Bridge seems to works with most anything but the system quality can be greatly enhanced with a separate streamer. Those can sometimes have issues depending on hubs/extenders etc.

Thank you, both. I built and have a Raspberry Pi streamer that works best with a coax connection; how would it compare to the bridge II with the wifi?

No experience with Pi. But even the most basic streamer I have used (Cambridge) showed improvement over Bridge. Try it and see…
