I already received mine but ordered in December ( and I love it)
Welcome @randalljkrebs !
I ordered Dec 23rd heard back making mine via email on 29th and asked what does that mean and got reply on 30th saying likely shipping with 1-2 weeks. So hopefully that means shipping by end of this week. Not that I am calendar watching or anything. Also what I found strange is they charged my credit already and I owe the payment on the 13th. So will inpay before I get? Usually does not happen in that order.
And lots of snow storms
Ordered Dec 27, confirmed Dec 28; no shipping notice yet.
Ordered 12/22 and was told shipping 3rd or 4th week of January…
The Dec 28 email I got said 1 to 2 weeks which is not too far off from yours. Hopefully no delays.
100 hours up and can confirm the lack of bass slam is gone. I felt the bass was a bit ‘soggy’ at first. It’s great now!
One of my tests for bass articulation is if I can clearly follow Tony Levin’s bass at the start of “Red Rain” on Peter Gabriel’s “So”.
The MkII allows me to hear deeper within a recording compared to the DS1 Snr it replaces. It’s like looking at a large mural where you can cast your eyes over the big picture but also linger on small parts that take your interest.
It’s hard to imagine this DAC getting better with further break-in and future firmware releases. Based on Ted’s track record I’m sure it will!
I am getting an audible click when changing tracks on a CD from my PST.
I understand that this is a know problem with the auto input select mode.
However, when I select the I2s input directly I still here the exact same clicks.
Any suggestions?
It has been suggested that you refrein from using the auto input (by selecting your preferred input (I2S1) one more time)
If you are using FPGA 173, 178 has fewer and quieter ticks. I’ll be further addressing the ones that are left in the next release.
Yes, this was the same issue I had if you have no preamp in between, MK2 - PST - Amp. It also can be heard with the PWT memory player. I was told by @sixpack1 that if you put a preamp in line you don’t hear it. Sent my PST back to have PSA verify but I think that’s it’s the MK2 generating the ticks not the transport. I’ll post once I have answers. I’m using, 2.3.3/179 firmware.
The ticking is definitely originating in the m k2. I never had it running the mk 1 direct to the amp. I also got the ticking from the PWT when the mk 2 was driving the amp directly. They won’t find anything wrong with your PST.
I’m thinking so as well. Had a second issue of the drawer rubbing and scratching the top of the tray. They are replacing the drive.
Good luck on your MK2.
At least you will get that drawer issue resolved. Ted may be able to resolve the ticks with changes to the fpga code.
Would it be possible for PSA to provide Roon with a device list update?
My MK2 shows up like this:
When I click on “? identify this device” and filter for PS Audio I see these:
It would be great to see the MK2 on the list. Also, while you are at it.can you also give them the information that they need for the Airlens too?
Thanks.
I may be wrong, but I think that the Roon list only includes devices that are certified “Roon Ready”. The MKII is not certified.
You can however go into the Roon Settings for the DAC and configure it properly.
Thanks, Vince. I have already made the configuration settings change.
If you are right, I hope PSA will get around to getting it certified someday. There are plenty of folks who don’t really know how to tweak those settings and having the MK2 in the database would be invaluable to them.
Perhaps. When I look at my TT2 it shows up like this. I think only networked devices get the Roon Ready cert. The rest like the Chord TT2 are Roon Tested.
Lets hope that would be sweet. I’m sure that Ted will figure it out.
