That is the amount they allow on the trade. You will also get whatever the difference of that amount and the list price of the Junior applied to your account for future purchases.
I asked Paul in another thread and he confirmed the extra credit trade in for the DSD MKI would be $3,399.
He goofed. Myself and others got the correct amount $2500.
Paulās response to my questions which was:
Good to know. Can the full additional credit of $3,399 be used for one purchase, say towards a P15?
Paul: Yes, absolutely.
Just placed my order! It will replace a Schiit Audio Modiusāso itās a substantial upgrade and my first real high-end DAC.
One question: The MK II page does not mention Roon Ready (while the MK I page does). Is this an oversight or temporary situation?
Has anyone used their MK II with a Roon Nucleus yet?
Thatās fantastic! Congratulations!
Remember that the MKII does not have a network connection. You have two choices: 1) Direct connect the Nucleus to the MKII via USB - tjhis works, I tested it; 2) Use an endpoint of some sort like one of the Sonore renduās, or any of the other network devices that Roon will recognize.
I am using a Rendu Signature SE. It works fine, but you do need to set the Rendu to use DoP vs Native DSD.
Does this help?
I actually paid less for mine but I didnāt have bridge II in it
Vince what is the status from them on the fix? Once I get mine (just put in order for my MKII) I will want this as wellā¦ need to gang up on them?
DoP is every bit as good as Native, thereās no SQ difference. I am in the wait and see frame of mind. They have all they need.
True, I should not make such a big dealā¦just for some reason it sits in the back of my head bothering me.
Very nice! I am curious to hear what your thoughts are from such a huge upgrade
Thanks for the clarification. I saw the ethernet port on the back and assumed that it was a network interface (on closer read itās actually for firmware updates over the network).
/* Guessing that network connectivity and streaming is what the AirLens will provide at a future date */
My Nucleus is currently in my rack, and I suppose itās easiest / best-est just to connect via USB. Same set-up, different DAC.
Q: Will Roon recognize the MK II and automate device configuration, or is it necessary to manually configure the device options?
I seem to remember that when connecting and setting-up Roon for the Modi that there was a preset configuration that I could selectāand it wasnāt necessary to fiddle with the various options. Was very plug-and-play.
I donāt have a large DSD collection, but Iām looking forward to hearing native DSD as opposed to the step-down translation that Iām currently experiencing.
There is no option for any other PS audio product other than the DSD Sr.
Is there going to be an update to this? Or do we just have to send an email?
Hopefully at some point. I just went to the āany stereo equipmentā page and entered in my PS Audio SGCD info. No problem.
I would go into the Roon config for the device and verify all the settings.
You should email @jamesh and ask. Great question.
I guess I was just hoping to get the 3,500 credit. āotherā brands only get you $2500
Definitely get in touch with PS Audio. People do so much more than algorithms!
I never tried to complete a whole transaction via the PSA website. I always emailed a PDF of my prior sales order, the one for trade-in, with serial number and they sent me a new order with full PSA device credit to check before they hit my credit card.
