Posted yesterday in “Ya, I got a system” (Bob’s post) and it is neither there nor in my “topics you have posted to” list . I’m pretty sure there was another comment in the thread as well. Weird. Something quirky with the forum software? Has this happened to anyone else? This may explain some unfortunate darts aimed at Elk. Although I think it may be elk season…

Very odd. And frustrating, especially for the poster.

There is quite a number of people with the ability to delete posts, but it seems unlikely as I doubt you posted anything even vaguely inappropriate.

I discovered yesterday that if you use text-based smiles, the post will disappear.

I did a colon+right parenthesis one the other day, which produced a giant smiley instead of a normal one (I edited right away, using the blue smileys button to select something smaller). Let’s see if it does it again… :)

Wow, that was interesting. It showed that it was saving the post, like usual, but when the page came back, it simply wasn’t there. I can see where that could be frustrating - especially if one had put effort into composing a post of some length.

It also appears that my post count stalled out; it no longer changes with a new post. These gremlins sure are strange.

Exactly what happened with me yesterday. Long post with photos. One smilie and ... Fortunately I have Lazarus Firefox extension that saves filled in forms in a local database. Took me quite a few attempts until I understood what's going on.

Finally heard back from Brandon, the IT guy. Now to see what it takes to fix the gremlins.

@adminpaul - Paul, please give us an update. We understand that you’ve been busy with product launches, but the forum’s problems persist and the workarounds are a pain. We know that the bugs weren’t there before you left for Germany. Obviously, some change(s) in the settings and/or code were made that messed things up, so there has to be a way to fix it.
