Discogs, seller practice

Good Day,

did you purchase lp’s on Discog?

I have a seller, that each time i purchase from him, when he see a more rare lp’s he discard it, refund me and two week later put it back at higher price?

Did it happen to you?

and since, he pretend his inventory, is not updated, his he allowed to do that, and could I could cancel my order since he could not fulfill it?

it’s been the third time, that he does that

thanks for helping?

This seller behavior is not limited to Discogs. I’ve seen it with LPs. CDs, audio gear, rare books, ephemera, and other collectibles on other sites including eBay. There are unscrupulous sellers everywhere. Fortunately, most sellers are honest and just trying to make a little cash. All of this said, I would ignore this seller no matter how much you want the item. If he’s willing to be this unscrupulous at the start, there’s no guarantee of the real condition of the record or if you’ll ever get the record shipped to you.

I recently had a somewhat similar experience on Discogs. A seller posted an elusive LP that I collect variants of. He priced it at $300. It’s never more than $50 anywhere. In fact, I bought the previous two Discogs listings for $50 each. On the $300 listing, I messaged the seller through Discogs and politely pointed out that this LP has never exceeded $50 on any internet site and I know this because I’ve bought most of them. He then responded with what’s best described as American jive talk from the 1970’s. No one talks like that today, so that was a major red flag. He promptly blocked me and then later deleted the listing without a sale (I checked from the Discogs account at my work). I doubt he ever had the LP since he posted a generic cover and this LP cover has hand made variants. Who knows.

Fool me once, your bad, fool me three times?

found a solution I cancel my account

I Will purchase the analog way, So I will go in a store pick the LP and buy it

More fun more Friend!
