DSD Mk2 USB input not working

Since PS Audio is on vacation, I thought I’d see if anyone here has experienced the problem I’m having and may have some advice.

I just got back from a week away and couldn’t get sound coming from my stereo. I only stream music using an UltraRendu into the DSD Mk2 using the USB input. I reset and repowered the DAC, streamer, switch, router, and Sonic Transporter. Roon shows that it is playing music and connected to the UltraRendu, but no sound. Amp and preamp were powering up as normal. Checked fuses and tubes. Then I tried the DAC straight to the amp, and still no sound. I tried two USB cables and still nothing. The DAC shows a green light, that it is seeing the signal on both USB cables.

Then I hooked up my UltraDigital which takes the USB output from the UltraRendu and converts to I2S. Finally, I get music from the I2S input to the DSD. This has me baffled. What could fail on the USB input to the DSD?

With a Stealth USB cable connection to the DSD, I prefer the sound over the I2S connection. Well, at least I have music in the meantime.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I recently had a similar problem with my mk1 on a Windows PC – I had to go into device manager and uninstall/reinstall the USB hub controller that the dac was plugged into. In my case, a different USB device plugged into the same hub was malfunctioning and causing problems. Not sure how this translates to the Ultrarendu, but hopefully it can help in some way.

Is it possible to do a factory reset on the Ultrarendu?

Thanks. Just tried an another reboot of the streaming system and took out and replaced the operating SD card. Now, unfortunately the network isn’t recognizing the UltraRendu after several power cycles. Need to keep investigating.

Back up and running, but only on the I2S. Unplugged the DSD for a while to see if that would do anything. Still a mystery.
