The Bridges were a while ago and a much more simple implementation. I suppose using the ConversDigital boards is like replacing the engine in a car - the issue is not if the engine works, it’s getting it to work properly with all the other systems. I think there is likely to be more to the AirLens than the Bridge.
For a standalone system the MConnect HD uPnP app made by ConversDigital is perfectly good and costs few bucks, I suspect people will use it. I used it for a while some years ago. I think it is iOS only.
For the first time in years I’m back using a hand-held remote control in my main system. Feels very 20th century. I rather like it. Elsewhere in the house my multi-room system will soon be fitted with microphones for full voice control without the need for Amazon Echo Dots.
I agree, timing is everything. Sooner or later EverSolo will produce a version of this product with an improved DAC to challenge the likes of Auralic and Lumin. Personally I prefer the Lumin minimalist styling, which is why I bought one. The other option, which is very popular, is to pair the EverSolo with a Holo DAC. I had a Holo KTE on order, cancelled it at the last minute. Had I not, I’d have bought the EverSolo as well.
My interest in the EverSolo was piqued because I contribute (cash) to GoldenSound. His review was so good - it was almost too good to be true, which sort of put me off. How can something for $1k be so good? He also loves the Holo stuff.
I’m doing this work thing. Lol. But yes. I’ve validated it is ntfs. I have found out that 16tb is a problem - not mine but good to know. Also possible multi partitions is an issue. I have yet to see multi partitions on my drive. If it is ‘hidden’ - I may have to look further. I’m gonna try another drive I have - which is completely diff than these drives I’m working with.
I’m using the same delivered usb cable with the HD. I literally plug this into the otg port and things go bad. I get no prompt - although I did see an option turned on to get a prompt on usb drive. That was turned on. Note this drive is loaded up w 4Tb of music.
I’ll try my other drive but I do think it may be partitioned. I have to check.
Somehow I seem to be stuck in shuffle play mode. Affects play lists and albums alike. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get out of this shuffle purgatory?
I got different drive to work. that’s good right ? Lol. However I need to figure out how to get my current drive to work. I’d have to back up the drive / reformat/ and bring the files back on I think. Uggh. Unless there are other thoughts
I do have some backup drives off site that were a drag n drop effort. It was noted I had an offset of about 155meg on the non working drive. Which could be the issue. So I’ll check my backups to see if they work.
Yes. Got the partition info and file system on the disk from that. The disk shows a partition offset of 135 meg - which could be the issue. But I’m glad I got it to work. I appreciate your help. Once I saw something connect… ooooh that’s how it works. I can either leave the drive attached and play… import a file to flash and play… or get the 4Tb ssd and copy a lot of files.
Once I get my backups I’ll be able to check further as I know there should be no partition offset with these.
And yes I think disk sounds better but the streaming gives me things I don’t have and allows me to experience new things at a head scratching difference? I need to listen to my dsd recordings.
The shuffle issue has been discussed on the Eversolo website forum. Looks like it is related to the last update and should be resolved on the next one.
Got some dsd files on my hard drive. Wow. @adifferentpaul was correct. These sound incredible. I’ve been kind of hooked on dsd sound and can recognize it. There is this liquidity that I love with it. It comes thru in spades. I’m feeding a sacd iso file using native dsd to the matrix and DS Sr. It’s beautiful.
It is sending to my matrix which passes to the dac. There is a thread on this in the zidoo forum - it is dac dependent.
But it definitely plays the iso file without issue. There is an option to send DoP if your dac is problematic. But they were taking dac names on the forum. My matrix passes native dsd to my DS sr btw
